Tell her the truth. It is way better now than if she moved near you.

Or lie and say you started dating somebody

I think Bumble is going to replace (or at least I'll use it more) Tinder for me. At least here in Houston, most of the women seem to be real, and they do seem to be more attractive than the women I see on Tinder or Hinge.

And I love the fact that women have to initiate the conversation.

So I think I've put myself into a bit of a tough spot. I was a groomsmen for my friend at his wedding little over a week ago and naturally I spent a good chunk of time talking to the bridesmaids. This one bridesmaid I talked to wanted to exchange numbers to keep in touch which I happily did as she lives in Manitoba. She flew back the next day and ever since then we've been constantly texting each other with casual conversation. But here's the issue I find myself in. I only liked her as a "friend" but the vibe I'm getting from the texts is that she's really into me but I'm not into her. I've tried to indirectly say that I'm not interested in being more than just friends but I don't think she understood what I mean't. Now she's supposed to go back to school in September but she then texts me today saying that she wants to move out here to British Columbia and go to school here. I was totally caught off guard and slightly panicked. I tried to tell her it's a bad idea and that I personally wouldn't do such a thing but she insists. I'm not attracted to her and this would be the last thing I'd want to happen/ deal with.

What would you guys do in a situation like this? I know obviously I should say that I don't like her in the way she thinks I do, but I'm not sure how to go about saying it. Any advice would be greatly appreciated!
Are you 100% sure you're reading all this correctly? Maybe she was already planning to move out there, and that's why she got your number? I'd do a little more investigating before you make her walk the plank. It's entirely possible she is just looking for a connection so she isnt completely alone when she moves here.

I talked to my friend and his wife (ones who got married on that day) and asked. Also she keeps joke texting me that I should move out there which isn't going to happen.

You don't even know this girl that well and all communication since you met has been through text. That's the easiest way to end it.

If you had to look her in the eyes and deal with the waterworks, I'd understand the hesitation. But fire off a text and put it to bed.

People may not be able to handle the truth, but they crave honesty. She'll be better off knowing up front that it isn't gonna happen then you basically stringing her along before eventually hitting your limit and ending it.

Put yourself in her shoes. You wouldn't want some girl sweet talking you only to find out after making plans or moving out there that she don't want you like that.

I know you have tried, but it was indirect. Time to cut the BS and lay it down straight.

My nephew hooked me up with Tinder right around the 4th of July. I told him whatever so he did it. About a week later I had my first match and I hit a HR with this girl. We messaged back and forth the first night to about 2am. Then about a week later we met for a drinks. I'm a 46 year old single dad and she is a beautiful 35 year old single mom and things have been going great.

Re: Anyone try online dating sites?

So I think the old fashioned method has worked for me. I stopped by and saw the former coworker I've been talking to lately. I've been fighting the urge to tell her I had feelings for her because I wanted things to happen naturally and not be forced. Nevermind the fact that I developed feelings for her when we worked together, but she was married at the time and I'm not a homewrecker.

So we talked for awhile out back, told her I had to go, we hugged, not uncommon the last couple times I've seen seen her. But when we pulled away, she didn't let go, and she started to lean in, and I took my cue and we kissed.

Now all of a sudden nothing. I texted her Monday night and we talked for a few minutes, but that's the last I heard from her. Texted her this morning and still nothing.

She deleted her profile once we started talking. So I don't what's up. On to the next one I guess.
That's why I stuck to OKC. Seemed a lot less flaky because it takes more than just signing up an writing a couple of sentences.

People are flaky on all the apps, tinder is probably the worst. Just gotta move quickly, exchange a few messages, ask them out, get their number, and then set something up quickly. And try and be talking to multiple girls at once. Just don't invest too much before meeting them.

I'm newly single and wondering which online dating site is best for a 47 year old. Match.com is LOADED - with ugly women. I have a good job and am in pretty good shape. Is it asking too much for a woman to actually care how she looks? To go to the gym? I'm tired of going to the gym and it's 95% dudes. Men take care of themselves much better than women.

So my latest adventures in OKCupid led me down this rabbit hole of a profile.

Nothing is set yet, but I might've set up a date through tinder (yea, yea I know.. not what tinder is for. ) But in an act of absolute desperation (not that I told her), I used the moments feature for about the 2nd time ever, saying I had an extra concert ticket for Saturday and the pic ended up with 3 or 4 likes, and I ended up messaging one of the likers, and asked if she wanted to go and she said she'd be interested, at this point I'm just trying to lock it down without being aggressive.

Anyone else think my best man Mike, to my immediate right, looks a lot like Derek Jeter? We always joke about that...
