 Re: Men and Umbrellas

I have glasses... nothing worse than a bunch of water on my glasses just because it's sprinkling a bit... then you gotta wipe them, which inevitably causes smears if they weren't perfectly clean before the rain, etc... ugh.

So yeah, I use an umbrella any time I have it on me and it's raining. I carry a small one in my work bag, so I generally have it with me. I actually like being out in the rain normally unless it's pouring, but with glasses, it's just annoying.Send your Midnight Release weirdo pics/videos to my new website: http://www.peopleofmidnightreleases.com!Comment

 Re: Men and Umbrellas

No umbrella. There is a man law against it.

Marines in any uniform are not allowed to carry an umbrella (unless you happen to be a female Marine, then it's okay.)

If you have a lady next to you, you can hold it for them but cannot yourself walk under it.

That's enough law I need. Though when did I start following MCOs?badComment

"I did,...w/ my umbrella"...Like how you're trying to sell that...

This is my umbrella, there are many like it, but this one is mine...

 Re: Men and Umbrellas

So because it isn't your BEST outfit it is cool to get it wet? LOLThis morning I put on my Phillies windbreaker jacket, which is waterproof. Maybe I'd put a hat on if I hadn't let my hair grow out so long now that none of my fitted's FIT anymore.

But like I said...I'd only use an umbrella if wearing a suit.

Otherwise it seems effeminate to me. It's a freaking polo shirt and jeans for crying out loud...it's not like your Sunday best.

We're men...we're not going to melt in the rain.

Are you worried about makeup smearing?

Thats too he-mannish even for me LOLConcrete evidence/videos pleaseComment

 Re: Men and Umbrellas

Well there's actually a lot more involved.

 (1) I typically stay in doors when it rains.
 (2) If I am out, I'm finding a parking space nearest to the store/entrance.
 (3) I'm married... ... ...

no really I care about my appearance, but I'm typically not outside when it rains and if I am, I'm prepared...but w/ a jacket and/or hat. That's all I need to get from the parking lot to my car (@work), and from my parking spot directly in front of my townhome to my frontdoor.

Seriously, if I lived in the city and used public transportation exclusively, I'd use an umbrella.Originally posted by Edmund BurkeAll that is needed for the triumph of evil, is for good men to do nothing.Comment

I checked and I wrote about the same things in the 2008 thread and this thread."It may well be that we spectators, who are not divinely gifted as athletes, are the only ones able to truly see, articulate and animate the experience of the gift we are denied. And that those who receive and act out the gift of athletic genius must, perforce, be blind and dumb about it -- and not because blindness and dumbness are the price of the gift, but because they are its essence." - David Foster Wallace

 Re: Men and Umbrellas

Before I moved to Arizona, I didn't usually use one. I drive to work and places, and didn't have to walk far to get to my car. I'd just run if it was pouring.

I've got nothing against it, I'm just not usually walking in the rain like a lot of you are. Maybe more cities where public transportation actually exists?

I'd definitely need one if I had a 20 minute walk in the rain, or I'd have a raincoat of some sort.Nintendo Switch Friend Code: SW-7009-7102-8818Comment

My skin is waterproof and I where clothes for the weather. I work outside sometimes no matter what the weather. I have never owned an umbrella. When rookie Randall Cobb was told by this U.S. Marine that he was a big fan of the wide receiver, Cobb said, “I think I’m a bigger fan of yours.”Comment

 Re: Men and Umbrellas

No. I never use one. I don't have a problem with guys using them, but I don't see the need. If I don't want to get wet, I just wear a coat, and, honestly, a lot of the time I don't even wear a coat. I like the feeling of getting rained on and the coolness that comes with it during the summertime when it's warm outside.Comment
