    Interesting.

I'm surprised--with as unaccepting to differences as this country can be--that a transgendered individual was elected to such a high local office in the first place. I'm happy to see that.

I'd have to see the outfit a little more and see what other female mayors are typically wearing before I made judgement on the case itself. I'm kind of siding with the woman who said any female mayor who wore that would have caused no problem, that it is just a big deal because of his sexual orientation. But then I see a shot of that outfit, and it does seem to show quite a bit of skin in a lot of places.

I don't get your point. They're fine with him doing something perfectly acceptable, but they're unhappy about him presenting himself in a trashy manner, instead of dressing well and looking presentable.

What's wrong with that? A mayor represents their town, and should look presentable, and at their best. That's a part of the job.

Eh...Mayor seems to be a little niave to think that just because he/she won the election as a open transgender that it meant everything that he/she did would be acceptable.

That outfit would have caused, at the very least, some harsh looks on 99% of elected office females. He/she just didn't have the figure and class to pull it off.

Probably because he's intelligent, well spoken, and qualified.

Or should I say she? The video doesn't do a very good job explaining if (s)he is simply a cross dresser, or an actual trans gender. It kind of muddles it up, actually.

If you can look at that man and not be disgusted then you wouldn't understand where I'm coming from. I just don't dig homosexuality/transgenders/etc. It's against what I personally think is right. Not trying to get into a debate, just answering your question.

Re: Town scolds mayor over his skimpy skirt

We've come to a sad place when certain people have convictions and others are shocked that some still hold to an absolute standard of right and wrong.

I think it would do a lot of people good to think upon what I am about to say for a while...

Just because society becomes more liberal or open-minded, DOES NOT mean that things once wrong, are now OK or acceptable...it just means people have lost their back bone and bought the lie that truth is relative. No friend, truth is truth. Always has been, always will be.

That is the dumbest thing I have ever heard in my life.

People should be allowed to hold any position they wish to - regardless of their personal life. This man's being a trans gender or cross dresser has NOTHING to do with his ability to be a mayor. But some people apparently think you shouldn't be able to hold a position because they disagree with a personal lifestyle that completely harmless to everyone around them.

People have the right to disagree with people's lifestyles. I'm not going to argue that... But I'm downright saddened that people think that also gives them the right to hold those people down; like they don't have the right or ability to hold a position because of their lifestyle. It's stuff like that that makes this world a worse place to live in every single day; and it's stuff like that that needs to be cast away.

                          Racism... Not cool.
                          Sexist... Not cool.
                          Ageism... Not cool.

                          Homophobia... Good to go!

...and that is the saddest thing I've ever heard in my life.
So if I deem it right in my eyes to kill someone, then its OK???

Its the same thing in a different dress...no pun intended.
