I'm pretty happy being in the Central time zone. Generally, I think it's a good balance as far as start and end times go.

I think the East Coast is a lot better for watching sports. Sometimes, they can be on late, but I stay up late, anyways. And for you West Coasters, college football starts at 9 AM on Saturdays. That would suck!

I agree... ntm that our scheduled broadcasts don't differ from the rest of the country like the Pacific does. Don't some of the television shows air at different times than the regulated schedule?... Animation Domination on Fox Sunday's for example.

Well since I'm not a big college football guy it doesn't bother me anyway, but I tend to wake up early enough (not much later than 8:00 AM normally) and just turn on the TV when in bed anyway. It will already be on ESPN from the night before and I'll flip open the laptop while on OS in bed as well, so the pregame NCAA stuff is just good background noise anyway.

But I guess if it's something you actually want to be awake seeing, like with friends and stuff... yeah, 9:00 AM would be harsh.

            Also a good point.

Pacific coasters really got screwed over on the Olympics, too, if I remember correctly.

I love having football on at 9:00 am. And I love not having to stay up till 1 or 2 am to see games finish.

Spending as much time on the east coast as I do, I can honestly say I hate watching sports in the EST time zone and I know understand why East Coast sports writers don't know **** about west coast teams.

As a fan of European Football. I couldn't imagine living on the west coast and having to get up sometimes as early as 4AM, if you wanna catch your team live.

Its also better on the west coast because all the east coast games end before primetime shows start and you can still go out after games. I still like the east coast though. You have time to get some stuff done before 12PM and then watch games the rest of the day.

Here's something for you west coast people to think about:

ESPN is broadcasting some EPL matches (I know, most don't really care). The first yesterday morning kicked off at 6:45 Central, thats 4:45 PST

                    Now thats early.

I blame sports for my inability to fall asleep before 2;00 am. NBA season is the worst. G.S. vs Portland 10:30 start. I stay up and watch it.

Worst part is all the bars/clubs are closed after the late games. That is the worst part about the Eastern Sports watching. It has to be great to watch the "late" game and it only be 10:00pm and you can go out afterwards.

No that's good for us. Nothing puts me back to sleep like soccer.

I wish I lived out West it must be nice on a Sunday to have football and Nascar races come on around 10 AM. And then Monday Night Football Games are at 530 and probably carry Happy Hour prices at the bars.

I'm old and live on the east coast so after the 2nd quarter Monday and Sunday night football is just me waking up groggily when the crowd gets loud then going back to sleep on the couch.

                                I am sad.
