Not looking forward to Yoga tonight. My knees were killing me after basketball last night and my upper body is dead from the chest/shoulders/triceps workout.

Re: P90X
By the end of the 90 days, it will be a lot better.
I'll man up.

Re: P90X
Yeah it takes time. My flexibility is terrible so I'm thinking of doing some of the yoga sessions once a week along with regular stretching to try and improve that. I agree that the first part of the dvd is pretty annoying though (I'm so close to screaming NO MORE DOWNWARD BLOODY DOG TONY!!! at the screen during that first half an hour).Comment

Re: P90X
I probably shouldn't even be writing this post right now because I honestly feel like I could puke at any minute.
I played nearly two hours of basketball tonight after work, and told myself all day long that playing hoops was not an excuse to skip my P90x workout today.
It was a good run tonight, full court, and afterward I felt really good.
I got home and went straight out to the garage.
Week 2, Day 5... Legs and back.
It was tough. I still struggle with the wall sits. I can do the higher ones, but when it gets to 90 degrees, I just go down. One legged wall sits are the devil, and I can only hope with time that I'll be able to do them. The lunges were tough... The pull ups were fine, but the legs portion made me sick. I was pushing myself though and finally shut the DVD off with eight minutes to go. I tried finishing, but by the end, I couldn't hold my balance with any of the moves and the nausea was really starting to come. I wanted to push through but I was just done. There are limits that you test yourself with, and then there are limits where you just don't go. 50 minutes was good enough. Originally, my goal was to get through half of the workout and call it good, but I made it further than that.
Granted, playing hoops didn't help me on this day, as far as the leg workout went, but I'm glad I put the disc in and hit play. Pushing myself to these limits is what will give me the results that I desire.
Let me put this out there, too. P90x is awesome. The last time I played ball was two weeks ago, and I was miserably out of shape. I started P90x two days later, and the difference I felt while playing was INSANE. I did not get winded at all, and I was constantly moving around and felt so much better after playing. I don't know where my weight is at, though I'd guess I've dropped at least 10 pounds -- but I FEEL so much better and that in itself shows me that this program is as legit as they come.
Kenpo X tomorrow, and to be honest, I'm looking forward to it. It is the easiest workout, but I plan on bringing my intensity level up.
Then I get a much needed rest day and it's on to week 3.Last edited by 12; 03-11-2011, 06:20 AM.Comment

Day 2: Plyo
It was good and not very difficult but I worked up a good sweat. For some reason the files of P90X I have were skipping/pausing/going slow on my laptop and I about wanted to punch the computer.
Hopefully the arms/shoulders file works smooth today
I've got a good bit of soreness in my chest/back from day 1! Good stuffSOS Madden League (PS4) | League Archives

I did Kenpo X last night and have finished week two. My goals for week three are to improve in every area and really step it up with Ab Ripper X. If I can improve on that and Yoga X, I'll be extremely happy.
I tried enjoying a day of rest today, but helped some friends move instead. Now I'm home and will enjoy the rest of the day watching some spring training games and playing The Show.Comment

In a few weeks once you can do the moves without messing up, move onto Kenpo Plus. It goes at a faster pace because they know you know the moves.Comment

Re: P90X
I think most guys are naturally inflexible. I know the first time I did the Yoga it kicked my butt. I liked it though and felt pretty relaxed after.Comment

Re: P90X
Ok here we go, you all. My package has shown up two days early. I will be starting the regular P90 on Monday morning. Wish me luck and I will update to like the rest of you do. Any pointers for starting or advice for the early satges would be greatly appreciated. In Loving memory of my "Cricket" 1/2/96 - 11/19/2012
