Been a rough hour so far. My wife posted our update on facebook & we've been getting a bunch of comments from family and friends. I'm not sure if this was posted but I thought I'd share this with everyone.

1 of my co-workers and close friend sent this to us. Feeling a little empty right now though I have 2 other dogs. 1 of which is Cinnamon Rose's son

Then, there's the horrible down side to owning pets....they fill you with so much joy, then break your heart one day. I went though losing my first 2 "children" a couple of years ago and it sucks. Got 3 more now, and because we are dog people, we'll keep going through it.

There are many poems about loss out there. I merged and stole from a few and made one sequence of verses that summed my feelings up. Still have this one in a small frame on my bedroom desk:

I miss my pup terrible... Ex-wife got him in our divorce along with everything else and there isn't a day that goes by that I don't catch myself talking to him like I used to as if he were with me.

I lost my golden retriever Cali about 2 years ago and still miss her. We tried to get back into the pup game too quickly after she passed. After about two months we got a boxer pup and it didn't work out well. She was hyper which we expected but what we didn't expect was that she would be insane. She was sweet just crazy as hell, we couldn't keep her especially because my little girl was learning to walk and we feared the dog when run into her knocking her into something. So eventually we found a family that occasionally breeds boxers and has 4 of them. She sounds much happier and it sounds like the other dogs are keeping her in check.

Dude....sounds like we are living parallel lives. I mean...what you described is exactly what we did....and experienced! Our lunatic is named "Roscoe" and we've kept him, but he's pretty much on shock collar duty when we go out in public. Serious idiot. Must be a boxer thing

Yeah, must be a boxer thing. My relatives had 2 boxers and both were extremely high strung and pretty much insane. Think they had the 1st boxer for a couple years before giving it away do to him being so wild and difficult to control. I think he also scared my younger cousins. Then, despite the experience with the 1st one, they got another boxer a few years later when my cousins were older and this one didn't last 2 months. Her name was Sadie but my cousins affectionately called her Satan Sadie so I think that right there says enough. They found a nice farm for her to live on I think. Now they have a very well behaved Burmese Mountain Dog.
