Awesome job. We can't even buy Gemma a raincoat because her shoulders and chest are so much thicker than rest of her body.

I still really miss Rocky, but I found this guy in a shelter and well ... yeah, he's not homeless anymore.

Not the best pic, because he's been sick with kennel cough. But he's getting better every day now.

Trying to decide between Baxter (his shelter name) or Riley.

Edit: Probably going to wind up being Baxter.

I was dog sitting for my parents last weekend and had Baxter over at their house. He learned how to jump this gate and tear down the window sheers next to the front door. Thankfully he left the actual curtains alone.

                          Any tips on cutting nails?

My pup is about 7 months old, and he is a little princess. He overreacts to so many things, but that's kind of how the breed is (Shiba Inu). This makes keeping his nails trimmed an ordeal.

He's absolutely fine if I grab his paw, but the minute I start trying to cut his nails it's hell on earth. He squirms so much it's impossible to line up the clippers long enough to get anything done.

Tried taking him to the groomers once, and they could only get 1 nail (not that they refunded me for the service they did not provide, but I digress).

Tried a few techniques I saw online like laying him on his side and trying to keep him immobile by placing pressure on his upper body and having my wife hold his feet, but there is still too much movement.

The only quasi-successful thing I've been able to do is flip him on his back while I hold him and wait for an opportunity to snip a nail. This is a bout a 20 minute process to get just 1 paw done though.

I wish I had advice, I can't even hold my dog steady to brush his teeth, he's a shih tzu and is so squirmy I can't figure a way to hold him. The vet says he needs his teeth brushed, but I'm up on the couch trying to configure a way to hold him down with my leg, hold his neck scruff with my hand, open his mouth with my other hand... and then brush his teeth with... what, my other leg?

I've gone overboard with dental treats to try and make up the difference, but he still ended up having teeth pulled at his last visit. I love Emmett, but he's a real pain in the *** when trying to help with these things

Funny thing that happens with dogs that I'll never understand; you hide a toy, they need to sniff it out and bring it back, the toy somehow ends up in a completely different location and your dog is flipping out about it.

I placed his bouncy ball in a wedge position between his bag of food and the wall. He's figured this out before, simple task for him. Several minutes go by and I'm like what's the hold up? Proceed to the kitchen and the bouncy ball is now somehow contained within a 6 pack of sparkling waters.

If he was able to remove the bouncy ball from the first location, how in the world did he find a way to lose control of it so bad that it's now stuck in a 6 pack? How does this happen? lol

My boy, takes his treats and buries them in our backyard. They'll be buried for days, sometimes weeka, then all of a sudden there it is in the middle of the living room....
