It's been good and bad times in my crazy Boston Terrier house over the past few months. The bad news is that my boy dog Howie died suddenly over Thanksgiving. Totally out of the blue and one day shy of his 11th birthday. About 30 minutes after getting home from a vacation in Japan he had the first seizure he ever had and never came back from it. The day that I left for Japan I had an early birthday party for him at his dog camp, so glad I did that. Ended up with a really good last photo of him with sisters Miley and Winnie.

After a few months we added a new little guy to the bunch. This is Kirby! I wasn't actually looking for a new pup just yet but my older dog Miley has gone fully blind and Winnie was left with no one to play with. Well, one of my breeder friends contacted me one day and said that this little guy was available and I went down and got him the next day. He is actually Winnie's nephew, so that's fun.

Having a puppy in the house is always fun and he and Winnie just love each other. They are like two Tasmanian Devils running around the house. Winnie never got to play like this when she was a puppy (she's two now) since Miley and Howie were older and wouldn't have any of it

Speaking of Winnie, I've been competing her in agility competitions lately. She's not quite the star that Miley was in her day, but she shows flashes from time to time. I'm actually expanding her performance events to lure coursing and dock diving, both of which she loves. What dog doesn't want to run as fast as they can and jump off docks into water? lol

As for Miley, she's hanging in there. She's had it rough the past couple months. She had some cancer come back and this time it decided to come back right behind the only good eye she has. She was totally blind a couple years ago but then I got her cataracts surgery to fix the one viable eye and so she could see again. Of course the cancer decided that was the eye to get in, so her eye had to be removed last month. Miley is such a trooper though, nothing really gets her down. She'll be 12 next month, hopefully it'll all be smooth sailing the rest of her days
