The evidence seems to be growing towards this being an act of terrorism.
They are saying that the guy shot 45 people in the few minutes before the police showed up. To my knowledge, doctors don't get any weapons training as they are non-combatants, so it is surprising that he had to be shooting 3-5 people per second to shoot that many people in that period of time.
This guy had never been to Iraq on active duty, so I don't know how he could have post-traumatic stress syndrome.
Also, the guy's name is reported to show up on several radical Islamic posting on the internet.
Several witnesses have claimed that Hassan shouted, "Alu Akbar" before shooting.
We'll see how it all develops.
