2004 NCAA Elite Eight Round: Alabama lost on my birthday to UConn in the Elite Eight...I was at the beach on Spring Break and had to watch it on a 19-inch TV in a room full of people being obnoxiously drunk. UConn whooped our ***. They later won the national title but still...

U shouldn't have been that upset, I mean, it's not like UConn wasn't the #1 team in the nation.

But speaking of NCAA Tourneys, I have to go to the following year when my team (check the avi) loss to UNC in the championship. After we came back from 15 down with 4 minutes left against Arizona, I thought it was our destiny to win it all.

We played UNC and they were kickin our @$$, and Sean May was looking like Shaq against our front-line. Anyway, I remember we were down by a lot, but we came back and got within 2. I thought it was gonna be destiny fulfilled when Marvin Williams tipped a shot in late in the game and pretty much put the game out or reach and killed our momentum. We only lost by 5, but that tip-in came at a crucial point in the game.

I was in a funk at work the whole day after.

About 1999, you know how I found out how it ended? The Today Show opening the next morning. Katie Couric waking me up during breakfast. For my 14 year old mind, she was a tight looking NY anchor.
