Simple Question- Ketchup in the Refrigerator, Yes or No?

Even thought NO WHERE on a bottle of Heinz or Hunts ketchup does it say to refrigerate after opening, people everyone continue to ruin a nice warm meal with nasty cold ketchup

According to Heinze. Refrigerating your Ketchup keeps its flavor at its peak, Unrefrigerated Ketchup is ok to eat, but will dilute the Flavor.

Fridge. I don't know why. That's just the way it's always been in my house. I never bothered to question it. Though, come to think of it, restaurant ketchup tastes fine and that sits out all day.

I can literally say i've never thought about this.

        Re: Ketchup

I keep my ketchup in the fridge, never really thought about it. HOWEVER...I never use ketchup from the fridge on the fast food I bring home. I either use what the gave me with the food, or I dip into my restaurant extras that I keep in a drawer at the house. My fiance thinks I am stupid, but just like you, I don't want cold ketchup on my fries. Room temperature for me. Plus I'll even go so far as to only eat McDonald's ketchup with McDonald's fries, Arby's ketchup w/Arby's fries and so on. Anyone else this particular?

Yes it does. I'm looking at my Heinz ketchup bottle right now. On the back towards the very bottom, it says in fine print: "For best results, refrigerate after opening."

If they don't say to keep it in the fridge, then why do the two bottles I have in there both say to do so for best results?

Well clearly it tastes better at room temperature, but it won't stay fresh as long. But at a restaurant, those ketchup bottles are probably refilled once a day or every couple of days so they don't have to worry about it.
