yep, but the off day isn't always sunday, actually it hasn't been sunday for me yet at all. you start the program, go 3 days or so, then off day. the workouts are of a good variety too. one is speed and agility, then there is strength (wt training), you get vertical plyo (jump training), back and core (basically yoga), relief which is like the relief workouts on the original insanity, gameday which is the hardest of all the workouts and one more, escaping my mind at the moment....

      Re: Insanity

Just finished week 3. I'm finding that I can get through the warmups and the first couple of circuits MUCH easier, but I burn out quicker toward the end of the workout due to the higher intensity i'm hitting the beginning of the workout with. It's always a challenge, which I love. I just hope I can use next week to get myself in the best shape possible to attack month 2.

Also, i've really noticed improvements in my body the last couple days. I can actually see my pecs forming under my chest, along with an overall flattening of the chest. Probably not so much from actual muscle building (well, there are a LOT of pushups), but likely from fat loss. I've also noticed substantial improvements in my midsection, mostly on the obliques, and again, probably from fat loss around the love handles. My forearms and legs are getting rather ripped at this point as well. I absolutely LOVE this workout! I've never noticed improvements in my body before during an exercise program, let alone after only 3 weeks.

        Re: Insanity

        Well Day 6 / Week 1 complete.
Woke up early before work to do it.
Kind of a mistake but oh well.
Very tired throughout my shift haha.

I can already notice a difference in my body and before I started I weighed 160 lbs, and after today I still weigh 160 lbs.
Im really happy about that, since I am not losing weight, and more than likely replacing fat with muscle.

        Bring on the rest day!

I'm addicted to Insanity. I need my daily dose of Shawn T and his merry band.

Just finishing cycle 2, week 2...down 16 lbs now. I'm actually going on vacation in a few weeks and am going to miss the workout.

I know how you feel. Even though today is an off day, I wish I had a workout today. My body knows better though .

I'd have trouble ever going back to a gym atmosphere after doing this workout. I love the motivation he gives you throughout the videos. I also love the need I feel to do everything I can to keep up with the people in the video. Gives me a goal to work towards. I'm slowly but surely working my way to fewer rests during the videos, and once I can get that under my belt, I want to work my way toward keeping up with everyone in the workout. I don't think i'll ever keep up with the chick that knocks out the jumping jacks like a machine though.

So glad to be back to my normal sleep schedule of 8am to 3/4pm (if you can call that normal ). I woke up and hit cardio abs/pure cardio today, and had my best workout to date. I was consistently over a 180 heart rate for pretty much the whole workout with much fewer breaks than usual. So happy with the progress.

I'm also starting to get nervous. I know that this is the week where I really need to PUSH, as next week is recovery week, and then the month 2 madness starts. Can't wait!

Good job man. I've kinda fallen off the wagon a little bit.

I had to fly out for a 3 day work trip (crazy flat out 7am-7pm 12 hour days) and the flight left at 6am and I walked out of the house without my disc's. I went running yesterday and will do some bodyweight stuff today but it's not the same. I think I'm just going to have to start this week again once I get home.

I wouldn't sweat it too much man. A lot has to go right to be able to do 2 straight months without any setbacks, especially with family and/or travel. I already missed the 5 straight days a couple weeks ago as you know from being sick. It only took a couple days to get back into it 100%.

Yeah I know but I kinda feel like I'm letting myself down. I guess it's just withdrawal's from the endorphins or something.

One of the reasons I was just going to keep going with the order rather than restarting is that It's hard for me to see many weeks where I'll have time to do all 6 workouts so I figured I should just keep plowing through them when I get the chance as I'll never actually finish the program if I keep restarting. Most weeks I'll be able to do all of them but with the amount of travel etc I do there will be pretty common days where I can't get the workout done and I'll just have to work around it.

So you definitely find it better to do the abs before the cardio?

Absolutely. I actually skip part of the abs warmup as well, as it has two separate versions of power jumps, and I want to conserve as much energy as possible for pure cardio.

currently on month 2, week 7 and what i can conclude is that month is not really more difficult than month 1; the workouts are just longer. i definitely feel myself digging to get through them though, and my shirt is usually soaked with sweat near the end

the circuit days are terrible to get through for me because i cant stand doing the same exercises for 3 sets...actually my favorite workout is max cardio

still lovin the grind but i can see the finish line is near

That's actually how I am with month 1. I'm a big fan of pure cardio, despite the fact that it's probably the hardest workout i've ever done. Today is power cardio, and I dread the 3 (I think it's 3) sets of power jumps. Those absolutely destroy me. Same deal with the basketball drills in the plyo circuits. 3 sets of the basketball jumps, ski abs, and in and outs are so hard. I like the idea of pure cardio, that you only do one exercise for an extended period of time.

Is the intensity of month 2 the same, or are the breaks longer? If it's the same, I could see it being harder, as especially by the end of pure cardio, i'm toasted, and it would take some serious digging to get through another 15 or so minutes. Either way, can't wait!

Power cardio and resistance in t-minus 15 minutes or so. Whenever this granola bar decides to digest and I can drop a quick deuce

Yeah the 3 rounds of some of the circuits really kill me as well. I am pretty dumb and sometimes forget there will be multiple rounds sometimes so I really smash myself on the first round then round two is brutal and by round 3 I'm spending half of the circuit laying on my face in a puddle of my own sweat with my heart rate up over 170.

Same thing I usually do. Today, with the power jumps circuit, I decided to pace myself on the 2nd and 3rd cycle of power jumps. Round one, he gives you a 1 or 2 second break between jumps, which I can do. Round two and three it's nonstop, and that's what usually wrecks me. Today, for round two and three, I still gave myself a very brief break when I hit the floor. It helped, as I actually had some left in the tank to finish the circuit and, as you said, not lay on the floor dying . IMO, the power jumps are absolutely the most physically exhausting body weight workout you can do, along with burpees, so i'm not surprised that i'm so exhausted after doing them.

I do think it's funny though that the farther I get into this, the more wrecked I am at the end of the workout. Pretty much every workout ends with my laying on my back on the floor for a minute before the stretches. Guess that's just a testament to how improved my cardio is doing this program, that I can push myself to that point of total exhaustion and still feel great after.

                                Question.
When its time for the multiple workouts "Cardio, and Cardio abs" or whatever, how do you approach this?

Do you just do the workouts one right after the other?
