I just hope that come tomorrow, day 1 of month 2 doesn't slaughter me. I already feel like I lost some stamina, as it seems as though the recovery workouts were harder than they should have been. I think it may have been due to the minute long exercises that really drain whatever muscle group you're concentrating on.
I'm still out of commission, and not planning to jump back in for another week or so. Not taking any chances with losing any of the blood clots in my mouth, as I don't want to get dry socket, which I understand to be incredibly painful. Also, rest is nice.

Funnily enough, I had the same exact mentality in the recovery week. Not sure if it made what I was able to accomplish in month 2 easier or harder, though. Regardless, I'm interested in what you'll have to say tomorrow.

Well, day 1 of month 2 is in the books: Max interval circuit.

Holy crap. That was the hardest workout i've ever done. There's like 3 different circuits, 3 rounds on each, for 3 minutes per circuit. By circuit 3, I was completely burned out, and had to rely on pure adrenaline to complete any of it. Shaun T doesn't hold back in month 2, basically telling you to get off of your a** and get back into it if you take breaks. Some of the stuff he mixes together is pure craziness. One of the circuits (I believe circuit 2?) has one comprehensive move, where you jump back into plank, do 4 ski abs, 4 moving pushups, 4 in and outs, and 4 wide plank pushups where you bring your knee up as you do the pushup. It absolutely drills you.

All in all, I can tell this month is gonna be nuts. I don't even want to know what's going to be in the max cardio workout.

About to start this in a few minutes. Ive never done any fitness training at all, the most I will do is a few sets of 30 pushups and crunches. Hoping I don't die trying this

            Good luck man, it's intense.

I'll probably jumps back in next Monday with a recovery week, and then start over from month one.

Good lord man, I can only imagine how bad Max Cardio is. I just finished Max Interval Plyo about an hour ago, and i'm still sweating. Having these 3 sets of 3 long intervals absolutely KILLS you. Today's workout had about 5 billion pushups (or variations of them), so I can barely move my arms right now.

Were you totally burned out at the end of these videos? I suppose that's the idea with it being max and everything, but when i'm on the last circuit, I have zero energy. I'm basically having to will my body to do what it can't, which is both a great and awful feeling .

I suppose tomorrow will only be worse with Max Cardio Conditioning. I love it though. No other program pushes you to the point that i've been pushed the last two days. I thought month 1 was bad, but so far, Max Plyo and Max Interval Circuit are just the most hardcore workouts i've ever done.

Sounds good. I know that's how I felt at the start of month 1, and within a week, I was doing better each workout. I'm assuming that's how things will work this month as well.

I'm not sure what to do. I have pretty severe shin splints at the moment (can barely walk without excruciating pain) so I'm not sure if my old man's body can take the pounding of much more of this.

I might have to go back to a traditional lifting day alternating with insanity day or something to give my legs and ankles more recovery time because with my history of injuries I think I might just end up hurting myself pretty badly.

I wouldn't sweat it too much man. I'm only 24 with what i'd consider a fairly athletic, albeit previously out of shape frame, and i've had some issues with my knees and ankles doing Insanity. No prior history of leg injuries either, minus a couple sprained ankles. It's mostly soreness that I can push through, but it's occasionally painful. This isn't something that I think i'd be able to do for like the next however many years, as it's just so demanding on the body.

Yeah it's just so demanding on the lower body. I kinda wish there was more balance to it but I guess when you are only working with bodyweight there is only so many push ups you can do and other than that there's not a whole lot of upper body work. I love the workouts and for convenience and a great cardio workout they are right up there with the best I have ever done but I just don't think my legs will be up to the challenge unfortunately.

Keep on killing it mate, I'll be following along for the ride for sure....

So yesterday was day two for me and I feel like I caught a break. My power went off due to some lightning after I was about 15-20 mins into Plyo. I honestly was about to stop in a few minutes anyway as I was completely gassed. Either Im in terrible shape or this is damned hard. Im gonna keep at it though and redo day 2 today. Hopefully I can make it all the way through, but my legs are so tight right now that I just dont know. Thats really the only part of my body thats sore right now.

Don't get disheartened. I would suggest going on to day 3. Just keep doing as much as you can. Everyone progresses at a different rate. By the time you do your second fit test, you will be amazed at your progress. By the way, if you are hurting from day 2, wait to the 2nd month. It's like you have never one the Insanity before. Good luck on the rest of your insanity journey!
I am the lesson after the fall.

Ain't that the truth. Just completed Max Cardio earlier. Good lord. I was totally gassed.

I still think that the hardest Max workout so far is Max Interval Circuit. Granted, it was the first day of month two, so that may have made it seem harder. But I was completely dead at the end of the workout.

I'm definitely not going to get discouraged and quit, I already feel good after just two days of doing it. Thanks for the encouragement.
