    Re: Insanity

I've lost a couple pounds (158 to 155ish), but I feel my body has transformed almost all of the fat that I had into muscle. So the results I hoped to get by starting this have actually happened. It's definitely not meant for getting big biceps, but your body will be more muscular.

Just a side note here, but does anyone else find the Asian lady (Tanya is her name I think?) annoying? She's always in the front, and whenever Shaun T goes over to her, she starts breathing heavier on purpose. I don't know how many times I've sworn at her.

Man, today was brutal. Pure cardio and cardio abs with it being 100 degrees outside. The AC is in the bedroom and wouldn't do much good in the living room, so that was out of the question. I was pouring sweat just doing cardio abs. Pure cardio was crazy hard with it that hot in the house. Oh well, got through it without dying. Definitely wasn't able to keep up the same pace I usually do though.

One more day, then recovery week. Can't believe i've pushed myself to finishing month 1 of this thing. In the past, i've been the guy who starts a workout, does it for 3 or so days, then stops. I actually get excited to do these workouts every day. Can't wait for month 2!

        Re: Insanity

Glad to see this thread is still going strong, seems like every time I come on OS there are several new posts.

The last few weeks I've done my own mash up of P90X and Insanity...so i90X I suppose.

M/W/F I do a twice-through circuit of my favorite P90X non-leg exercises (fully body) and Tu/Th/Sat I do an Insanity workout. Sometimes on Sunday I'll do yoga from P90X or cardio recovery from Insanity.

Got to say that combined with IF I'm seeing the best results of my life, hoping to take the next couple months off from boozing and really see how lean I can get.

Nice work Ehh! A mash up is probably something I might try after I finish the 60 days of Insanity.

Cardio Recovery and the Power and Resistance workouts are in the books for me. Feeling good and my fitness is definitely improving.

            Re: Insanity

Completed my fit test (FT) a few days ago...it was the beginning of Cycle 2, Week 3. Here are my results from my very 1st FT to the most recent. After doing no cardio workout for probably two years before I started this program I'm very happy with the results I've had.

Of all the numbers I think the Low Plank stands out because that is the last exercise in the FT. The 1st time I did it I remember I could barely move by the time it came up, this FT I went and lifted weights after I was done!

            FT on 5/6...FT on 7/21

            Weight 192...176
            Globe Jumps 5...8
            Low Plank 20...65
            Power Jacks 40...56
            Power Jump 29...42
            Power Knees 78...100
            Push-Ups 25...40
            Suicide Jump 12...18
            Switch Kicks 70...141

Off I go to do Pure Cardio/Cardio Abs!

Man, this program made me feel guilty. Had a buddy come into town for a night Friday, and went out getting hammered Friday night. Didn't do Saturday's routine cause I felt like dog crap. Well, I wound up doing it today anyways on the "off day". Definitely feel better about myself, especially since it's the last workout of month one.

Now on to recovery week. I hope my stamina doesn't take too much of a hit.

Just completed Core Cardio and Balance. Definitely not an easy workout by normal standards, but a nice break from the intensity of Insanity. You definitely get some good work in, albeit at a slower pace. It's almost a hybrid of the cardio recovery workout and some of the other power exercises spread across month 1. I really liked it to be honest. You work up a pretty good sweat as well, which is what I was worried about. I didn't want to lose a bunch of stamina heading into month 2.

I've made one small adjustment, that while it sounds stupid, has made a big difference. I've loosened up my shoes to about as loose as they can go. I had them tighter in order to get more support, but my feet were KILLING me during the last few workouts. Now, it's not an issue at all. I'm a guy that likes me shoes to be a little tighter, as I hate the feeling of shoes slipping off, but it definitely has made a difference for me.

do a google search for insnanity/p90x hybrid workouts. you will get what you are looking for! the hybrid workouts are the best of both worlds and in my opinion the best workouts you can do...

My problem is that basketball gets in my way. I try to tailor my workouts around hoops which makes it hard to follow the set schedule. I usually do like you colkilla and just make up my own program.

After messing around with Asylum I started up Insanity to get in shape for soccer. After a week I was rolling until I hyper-extended my knee playing soccer. I don't know how long I'll be out but the inactivity is killing me. That and knowing how much of my progress I'm going to lose by sitting idle.

                          Ouch.

Wisdom teeth are coming out today, so I will likely be out of commission for a few days, maybe more. I have a few options for when I'm back in a condition to workout. I could finish out these last workouts, or I could restart. More than likely I will lead in with a recovery week and start month 1 over again.

Sucks to come so close and not finish, but I had been falling in and out of the program for the last week and a half.

Pretty decent progress for only a few weeks mate, mainly around the lower stomach area.

I hate taking progress pics for anything less than a few months apart because if the changes aren't obvious I get discouraged but you can see a difference in your pics so good job!

I'm on the road with work all this week. Got up at 5am to do the workout (pure cardio + abs) this morning in my motel room because I have a long day ahead and it took me a while to get going but once I had warmed up properly I got a great workout in.

How's everyone making out? I just finished recovery week yesterday. It was a pretty crappy week over all, as the wife and I have been looking at cars and test driving all week, so I missed 2 of the recovery workouts. I figure it's a week for rest and recovery anyways, so if i'm gonna miss any, these are the ones.

I just hope that come tomorrow, day 1 of month 2 doesn't slaughter me. I already feel like I lost some stamina, as it seems as though the recovery workouts were harder than they should have been. I think it may have been due to the minute long exercises that really drain whatever muscle group you're concentrating on.
