    Re: Insanity

Just finished pure cardio and cardio abs. Much better this time around doing cardio abs first. I was actually able to get in a good ab workout as opposed to last time, when I was too burned out from pure cardio to keep any sort of good form on the C position ab exercises.

Glad tomorrow is recovery. Been feeling some soreness on the inside of my right knee. It's been there the last few years, but not as much recently, as i'm not constantly on my feet at work. I'll have to monitor it, but I don't think it will present an issue.

started insanity "the asylum" this week. i LOVE it. it is more tailored to athletic/sport specific training. adds some weight training too. when you guys finish with insanity i highly recommend it! it is only a 30 day program too so keeps things fresh. after this month i am going to move on to some of the hybrid (p90, insanity and asylum) workout calendars...

Done with Week 6, and I'm beat. I did plyo today (slightly adjusted schedule) and wow, I had plenty of issues doing the moves. Level 3 drills also suck.

What equipment do you need for asylum again? How long are the workouts if you don't mind me asking?

Just completed cardio recovery. Am I the only one that legit can't hold the squat pulses? After the 16 slow squats, he has you sit in the squat position for literally like a minute BEFORE pulses. I'm back standing straight up after like 20 seconds . Same with holding the lunges. I just can't hold the positions nearly as long as they can.

Yeah same here. You are already in a squat position for what seems like FOREVER and he's like 'ok cool now lets do these pulse thing's'. No way in hell can I stay down there for that long.

I'm back on the wagon and toe is all healed up. I did pure cardio followed by the ab program last night. I agree that you are pretty spent from the cardio to really get the most out of the ab work so i'll probably change it up next time as well. My abs were still burning and are sore this morning so I have no doubt it did work.

I have the fit test this arvie so that will be interesting as I'm doing it right after a little break with the injury but I'm just gonna keep going rather than restart the whole week again.

if you order the program it comes with a speed rope and an agility ladder. then you need either some bands or dumbells (15-35lb will work, i use the switch tech kind). the longest workout is right at 60 minutes but there is only one that long. the rest are 45 mins or less. i LOVE it so far...

I feel ya man. Those are tough as hell to hold properly. It's funny, because despite the enormous improvements i've seen through each successive workout, the cardio recovery is still ridiculously hard. I loathe anything plank related. My arms start to go numb, then I shake like a SOB until I just drop .

How do you like the program so far?

                        I love it.
Only 4 days in so Im still really tired throughout the day after doing it.
Partly because Im waking up earlier to get my workout done.
Hopefully after this week I can start getting that "energetic" feel to the rest of the day.

But yeah, Im loving it and never liked being sore so much!
I even took "before" photos and ill probably take pictures after 2 weeks to compare.

                            Re: Insanity

Just finished power cardio. It was kind of a strange workout today. I felt a little stiff during the warmup for some reason. I'm thinking it may be because I was really concentrating on hitting the stretches better during yesterdays recovery day.

When the first circuit hit however, I blew through the first round (power jumps, belt kicks, hit the floor, and V pushups) without stopping, and actually kept the exact pace that the people in the video were keeping (well, minus a few v pushups, those are pretty damn difficult to keep pumping out). Then, when the second set hit, I got about 15 straight seconds of the consecutive power jumps, and I was dead the rest of the workout. I kept having to stop for extended periods, and barely finished the workout. I don't know if the adrenaline from the beginning of the workout wore off, as I haven't gotten the greatest sleep this week, but something felt off. This is the first time this has happened since the very first day over 3 weeks ago.

I dunno. I'll hit tomorrow hopefully on some better rest. This week felt a little more rough anyways, as I was already awake for 10 hours before starting the workout, whereas I usually am able to wake up and start the workout within 45 minutes, which is usually to my advantage. This coming week, i'm back to doing it after waking up, so hopefully i'll perform even better.

Prob just the schedule change and lack of sleep catching up with you mate. I'm sure you'll be fine once it goes back to your normal schedule.

Some of the results on youtube for this program are pretty damn good. I must be doing it wrong ie eating too much because this dude started out nearly the same weight as me and lost 18lbs and 4 inches off his waist in the first 30 days, I haven't really seen any difference in those two areas so far.

I'm with you man, as time goes on I become more and more dissatisfied with my weight loss. I will have to cut calories, I guess.

I still love the workouts, though. I don't see how I am not losing tons of weight based on how hard I work and sweat.
