    Re: Insanity

I started on Sunday so that would make me on Day 5 today. I feel it, for sure. Yesterday was Cardio Recovery and I made it thru the whole thing. Day 2 and 3 were tough.

I'm not in the greatest shape. Last summer is was in the high 180s. I probably alternated between 185-190 every day. I'm only 5'7"ish, but I was looking decent. No belly, surprisingly.

Anyway, towards the winter I ballooned up to about 207. I made it a goal to lose weight, in about 2 weeks, I dropped to 196.

Then something good happened. I got a job offer in NYC. Part time until I graduated later in May. It was great, however bad as well.

I'm doing tax, so naturally I am now a desk kind of guy. I munched on cookies all day, while enjoying the lunch the city has to offer.

I haven't weighed myself but I definitely feel I am the heaviest I have ever been. I would say in the 210-215 range.

However, just 5 days in, I feel great. A little sore, but no pain, no gain, right?

I will come back and update.

One question, for guys who are deep in the process or even completed, i.e. Kearnzo, what kind of results have you seen? How quickly?

Like I said, I'm only on day 5, and I feel better, I feel more 'toned,' but have not noticed a difference yet.

Agreed on Max Interval Circuit being the hardest.

I completed the 63 days this past weekend, and I can say it was definitely worth it.

It only took a couple weeks for my wife to make comments on just looking more "slim". From there, everything got more and more defined, with visible changes coming rather rapidly. I've lost two belt sizes and 10 pounds, slimmed the crap out of my love handles (whereas before they had quite a bit of love to go around), and my legs are visibly muscular. I always had strong legs, but they actually look ripped now. Upper body wise, the chest is flattening out rather rapidly, shoulders are more defined, and my forearms and triceps have gotten visibly bigger. Biceps are about the only thing not being worked hard, so there obviously hasn't been too much of a change there.

Overall, everything just looks tighter, especially now that i'm halfway through week 1 of month 2. And given how hard i've worked each day so far in month 2, the process is only going to be expedited I imagine.

Just completed max recovery. I was shaking like a son of a bitch during some of the stretches . Great core focused workout though.

          Re: Insanity

Just completed Max Interval Circuit for the second time. I stand by what I said that this is the hardest single workout i've ever done. The various full body drills are mind numbingly hard (especially the ski abs/pushup jacks/in and outs/oblique pushups circuit), and by the 3rd full circuit, i'm completely drained. I thought Max Cardio would be the hardest, but Max Interval is just a step above anything else i've ever done.

And if you're wondering, this picture is from the Max Interval Circuit when you finish. I assumed when I started the program that it would be from Max Cardio...

I felt a lot "tighter" in the stomach area after a week or so. I really started to notice the results though during month 2. I took pics at day one and then at the end of month one and felt a little frustrated...but then I realized that since I hadn't done cardio in two years what was I thinking believing that I'd be "ripped up" in one month? If it was that easy everyone would do it.

I'm going on month 3 now (I restarted the program with a few changes) and it's night and day from where I was. My only advice is stick to the diet. It took me many years to realize that diet is the most important part of any workout routine.

                Re: Insanity

I'm not one to follow diets, but I have been eating better. I'm noticing some results but this weekend ruined that. Saturday was already a day off, and Sunday was basically hell, because of a horrible weekend.

Just ate too much and had a few beers. I felt like poo on Sunday. Got thru the warm up and then the dvd froze, killed any motivation I had of doing it that night, and it didn't help that my friends old DVD player does not forward!!!!!!

Hopefully getting back on track today.

I felt incredible heading into Thursday and Friday. I felt lighter although not necessarily saw results, just that I felt it.

Hopefully I won't have a weekend like that again, just need to pace myself.

I have cut out every drink but water, and of course the beer I drank this weekend.

                  Re: Insanity

Just finished Max Cardio. Got a much better workout out of it this time. From the end of the stretching to the cooldown, I don't think my heart rate dropped below 175, and was over 180 the majority of the time. That's definitely the hardest i've been able to push yet in any of the workouts. I can't even fathom the number of calories I just burned . It felt good, as I actually took fewer breaks than some of the people in the video. Granted, my intensity in some of the exercises still isn't quite up to par, but i've learned how to balance going all out with going hard but not too hard, so now i'm able to keep my heart rate higher for longer periods of time. I feel like i'm almost to the point where I can go all out and take minimal breaks for maximum results.

To the guys that are still in the first month, PUSH THE STRETCHES! You'll need it in month 2, as you'll hit the point of physical exhaustion much faster during some of the exercises, and your form may take a hit. I know myself that I could have done better during the stretches in month 1, and now, i've been pushing through some soreness in my left groin/hip flexor area since Friday. It's nothing that stops me from pushing in the workouts, as once I get going and get stretched before the circuits, i'm good to go. But during the day, I can feel it when i'm walking around. It may have just been a freak thing, but don't slack off on the stretching. Plus, i've found the harder I push the stretch, the better I feel afterward anyways.

Time to get back on the program!

Today I did the first half of the cardio circuit and balance workout. Wednesday I'll do the whole thing. Then on Friday I'll start the regular program again from the first full workout.

Yeah, they mix up the exercises pretty well in month 2. Quite a few new moves as well that really push your whole body to the limit. I think it's in the Max Plyo Circuit that he throws in level 3 drills with 16 pushups and 16 runs, along with crazy plank combos, such as ski abs/pushup jacks/in and outs/oblique pushups all at the same time.

Just be prepared to feel like you've never done an Insanity workout before after the first time through the Max Interval Circuit.

Still going strong. Next Saturday is the last day, so i'm trying to push harder now that i'm almost through. I gotta be honest, my knees are taking some punishment. I'm definitely not going to be able to hop right back into this again for a little bit. I'll probably do the workouts every other day for a while, and on the off days, use the perfect pushup to get stronger. I've found that's one of my weaknesses in this workout. I get worn out really fast doing some of the higher level drills that require more upper body strength.

I've gotta say that i'm definitely in the best shape of my life. I got through today's Max Plyo workout with very few breaks, and felt great afterward.

I've been dropping the weight like crazy. Although I'm fasting, so that definitely has something to do with it as well. Also, I have not really even finished a work out fully.

However, yes, I have dropped upwards of 10lbs if not more. I wasn't entirely sure exactly how much my weight was prior to starting.
