I need to read the article and note more thoroughly, but this guy's view of the IRS to an extent jives with what I've heard from my dad. My dad works for the IRS as well up in DC (he has for about 30 years now) and has been dismayed with what goes on up there on and around Capitol Hill for a long while now, particularly with regard to the life insurance industry.

That said, it's sad that this man felt that he had to commit a tragic crime in order for his opinion to be heard. It kinda sounds like he had a rough life fighting for a cause he believed was right and just finally snapped and wrongly attempted to end the lives of others while taking his own.

Stuff like this just seems to make you lose faith in people. I've had some hard times,I'm pretty sure most of you have as well. But I don't care how bad it gets for me,my first thought isn't to run out and kill people because my life is in the crapper. All I can do is say to myself "things are gonna get better" and keep on keeping on.

Yes MrJackFlash but couple your previous post with that statement you make it sound as if people in general involved in politics, be they right wing or left wing, might latch onto this man and idealize him. And that is very far from the truth. I have worked with all sorts of folks in politics, both on the right and the left, and I can tell you he will not be idealized or worshipped by anyone on either side. He will be labeled a terrorist nutjob. As I said, anyone that idealize this act needs therapy and immediate intervention. As polarized as our country is right now politically it is still not acceptable, in the political world in the United State, to commit acts of terrorism no matter the principle.

Will there be a few folks who deem this guy a hero? Yes but then there are folks who think dogs talk to them. There are folks who think there are hidden meanings in all numbers. Those folks are not mainstream, they are in need of mental help. So please don't imply this guy will be held up as a hero by either side because he won't and shouldn't be.

Sadly I agree. I often find it difficult to have any hope for the future survival of humanity when I read/hear when I read about people committing these idiotic, senselss, amoral, misanthropic, etc. acts I often wonder how we can call ourselves civilized when there is still so much hate and senseless violence around.

The thing is his views on our government and tax laws are all correct. We the middle class are paying ultimately for large business such as Enron when they mess up and "steal" boat loads of money from us. We the standard citizen have no way of challenging this.

So I agree with his motivation for wanting to have a better form of taxation. But his ways of getting his point across is wrong. You don't take down the "average" middle class working american that is working in that IRS building. I am sure he looked at them as a cog in the wheel of the giant enemy.

Bottom line is the guy has a point. Our country is in rough shape if we continue the way we are headed. Some big changes need to happen in the country. We have more taxes than ever and are in no better shape than we were 50 years ago.

So I can see people agreeing with his view point on WHY he was at the end of his rope. But with that said, I will NEVER agree with killing our own. That is morally wrong, sick.

A trillion dollars, that number is not even fathomable. Yet the government threw it around like it was 50 cents just last year.

No one take me agreeing with his view points on the IRS and our tax laws like I agree with him killing people. I think that is a sick person. a normal sane person does not do that.

But with that said, I would like to see some good come out of the commotion this letter might cause. If it does open some eyes up stairs and maybe some large news stations start pushing the issue "are our tax laws unjust". Then it would be a positive for the middle class American and our future kids of this country.

Because the simple fact is things such as medicare, welfare, etc are thrown around so loosely. Many of us won't get anything from social security. Yet we all pay for those services to be given to many of people who don't deserve them.
