I have to agree with you there.

Manual - a lot easier to maneuver in snow/rain.

Definitely auto. This is 2010, I don't want to have to worry about shifting.

This. It looked cool as a kid, but now it just looks like a pain. My Camry gets good enough gas mileage.

The majority of the time, I forget I'm even driving a 5-speed because shifting is just a sixth sense. I've mastered the art of driving with my knees, shifting, and eating at the same time.

I learned how to drive a stick in an old "beat all to hell" 4 speed Jeep that I used to blaze the trails behind my house with.

I learned how to drive on a stick. Probably some of the most frustrating times of my life and my dad begging me not to pop the clutch out again, haha. But hey, you learn to drive stick and you can drive anything. The two vehicles I've driven have both been stick and as long as I have a choice it will be a stick.

I wonder if eventually they'll get automatics to be better than manual (via computers and whatnot)...
I called that leg pump back in San Diego. Gets old real quick.

                            Re: Manual or Automatic.

I agree with the OP. I've had an automatic, a 6 speed, and my current car is an auto with a manual option. Personally I love sticks because they are just more fun, and I feel I have better control of my rpms.
Sitting in heavy traffic with a clutch can be tiring, but I would still rather have the stick+clutch.

Manual all the way, especially if you drive a fast car. I have an avatar connection with my car.
