Re: TV Vs Videogames: which would you choose?
Videogames. I enjoy the interaction and I really have no use for most of today's TV shows, especially the reality genre which makes up so much of the television landscape. However, I would miss watching sports on TV.New Jersey Devils- 1995, 2000, 2003
New York Giants- 1927, 1934, 1938, 1956, 1986, 1990, 2007.

Re: TV Vs Videogames: which would you choose?
I really don't see how anyone could realistically say they would play video games over TV for the REST of their life.
While the average age of gamers is getting older and older, there will still come a time where that stops for everyone (whether it be a personal choice, or a physical choice).
I think it is a cool hypothetical but should have a different time frame on it.
Personally, if you asked me if I had to choose one or the other for the next year, I would still probably have to choose TV as watching sports is much more important to me than playing them...Comment

Re: TV Vs Videogames: which would you choose?
Sports tilt the favor heavily towards TV (assuming we aren't talking stupid technicalities like slingbox/hulu or emulators for games).
I only buy 3-5 games a year and last year went from mid-August to mid-December without playing games (not on some sort of challenge or setting a lifestyle, I just didn't have time).
No sports is a killer.Comment

Re: TV Vs Videogames: which would you choose?
TV, not even close for me. Sports, cartoons, and the few other shows I watch are much more important to me than video games. Video games will eventually get boring to me(and I mainly only play sports games), while I watch sports or spongebob every single day and it never gets boring.Comment

TV. Sports is obvious, but I also like House, 30 Rock, etc. more than I like video games.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

Videogames......99% of the stuff on tv now is crap and I don't watch it at all. Far as sports go.......where I live......Bulls are crap, Bears are crap, Cubs are crap, White Sox are crap, Blackhawks are crap.......so no I am not missing anything on tv. Those teams have losing seasons every year or choke in the playoffs.
My whole life growing up in Chicago all I kept hearing well next year will be better. It never is LOL.Comment

Re: TV Vs Videogames: which would you choose?
TV. I love my sports and Sports Center too much and I actually like some reality TV (Survivor, Big Brother). I know some of the dramas that I used to like are either on their last leg or off air now (24,The Sopranos, Oz, Nip/Tuck etc). However, there's still a few good ones out there namely, Sons of Anarchy, Dexter and True Blood. Plus, there's still about three solid sitcoms out there The Office, Modern Family, Curb.
So yeah I'd choose TV.My 2K17 Boston Celtics MyLeague

Green Bay Packers

Re: TV Vs Videogames: which would you choose?
Television, for sure.
I like gaming on my 360, but I don't play a lot of games on it (CH 2K8 is the only game I've played in over a month) and I've only played that a few hours per week lately. I watch television much more.
Plus, sports are on television. 'Nuff said.Comment

I should've read the actual post instead of the topic alone before voting. I voted for video games, then read the original post, and basically had that Homer Simpson "D'OH!" moment for a sec. lol.
TV for sure. No way I could go the rest of my life with no tv. But I could fairly easily go the rest of my life with no video games.Indianapolis Colts

Re: TV Vs Videogames: which would you choose?
TV
With videogames I can take it or leave it. I mean I still rent/buy games i'm interested in but I don't rush out to buy everything "awesome" on the market and I doubt I would even if money was no object.
At least with TV I can watch sports, movies, educational programming, news etc etc. I think i'll always play videogames until my hand/eye coordination gets so bad that I can't function but it's not the be all and end all for me.Member of the Official OS Bills Backers Club

Sports makes tv a no brainer.
Though if it was just tv shows vs. videogames I would probably go with tv shows, its close though.Originally posted by Jay BilasThe question isn't whether UConn belongs with the elites, but over the last 20 years, whether the rest of the college basketball elite belongs with UConnComment

TV. I love my games, but I also like being able to chill out and not be actively involved too. Plus I wouldn't be able to see Lost, Dexter, Californication, MMA, Football, Basketball, etc. If I didn't have videogames I'd just spend that time doing something else.Last edited by Pappy Knuckles; 03-12-2010, 02:51 AM.Comment
