What ISP Do U Have. How Is Online Gaming, Downloading & Uploading?

My ISP is Clear formerly Clearwire. My plan is 5mbps down and 1.5mbps up but I never actually reach those speeds. When I download files the highest I reach was 350kb/sec but on average it's 80-110kb/sec. Uploading on average is 50-60kb/sec.

Don't even ask me about online gaming. It's a lag-fest. This friday I am finally making a switch to Comcast. What sucks is have to pay Clearwire $200 for a cancellation fee. My plan with comcast is going to be the 12/2 plan (12mbps down & 2mbps up). Is that good enough for downloading large files, streaming movies and playing games on xbox live all at once?

What plan do you have for your ISP and how is your online gaming, downloading. uploading and streaming experience?

I have Verizon FiOs...not the fastest f.o., but it is great nonetheless.

    This is wireless...

So you can imagine the wired ....it is great for gaming, I never experience lag unless everyone else is of course...but if I am playing with real life friends, I am the least likely to lag and such...

Comcast with powerboost. 15 down, 6 up. In reality it be 22 to 32 down and 5 to 7 up. Even wirelessly, if you have an N router, you see very little drop off.

That is way better than mines. How fast is it to download large 700MB files, upload 100MB files, stream videos and play games on your 360 or ps3 online?

I have the 5mbps down and 1.5mbps plan with my ISP but never reach those speeds. That's why I am finally leaving them even if it means paying $200 for the cancellation fee. I called Comcast yesterday and they are coming this friday.

I am going with the triple play plan that starts off $99.99 for the first year. The guy on the phone says I can get up to 15-16mbps.

Do u know what internet speed will I get with this plan? Performance? Ultra? Blast?

Well being my 360 is wireless, to download a 1.2gb demo it takes about 40 minutes, connected directly it would be 25 minutes. To stream netlfix on the 360 or the ps3 oh that only takes 20 seconds and it plays straight through like watching tv.

TW Road Runner W/ PowerBoost, I hate it, it Blows. BTW Power Boost is a Scam, i only got it for free when i threatended to go to Fios(which i will).

With RR my Connection will randomly slow down to the point of a 56K Modem or just Disconnect. F U Time Warner.

Unforutnately FIOS hasn't made it to my area yet, even though they have made it 20 miles to the east of me. So for now Comcast is good for me. Especially since they put in brand new lines throughout northwest indiana for the past 4 years now, their ISP is the shiznit here.

I swear AT&T pretty much got ran out of northwest indiana by Comcast and Verizon. The last time I seen a AT&T U-verse commercial here was almost a full year ago.

Damn Stewaat your DL speed makes mine looks like crap. I am only averaging 80-100 kb/sec transfer rate.

Can anyone with the Comcast 12mbps download/2mbps upload service tell me if the speeds are sustained or does it fluctuate?

Anyone reading this and plan on getting clear/clearwire. Don't do it if you are a gamer, have multiple computers or likes to stream movies.

I have Time Warner with Powerboost or Turbo or whatever and it flies, I never have any lag in any games I play online. Except The Show but then that is the game itself I think.

Time Warner Road Runner. I'm on the 7000 kbps down/384 kbps plan (the download is good, but the upload is awful...) with Powerboost (for download only). Usually, I average around 10,000-15,000 kbps download, but sometimes in the middle of the night when few people are online, I can attain 25,000 kbps speeds.

I really wish Time Warner would upgrade their God awful upload speeds, though...

Depends on the time of day and the actual day. 95% of the time it is sustained. Come weekends, christmas break or thanksgiving weekend it will vary because a lot more people will be online. However the changes won't be so great that you would say omg wtf happened here.
