Its anywhere they have a hot spot. So most places it's free, unless you want to be anywhere. Uverse speed it great, I don't have any problems. I also don't have the TV service, so I don't know how that would effect it.

so there are a lot of hotspots? just wondering if it'd be worth it to go from timewarner @ 59 a month to at&t u-verse @ 55 a month for their max service. what tier of their service do you have?

Ok I have never seen those screens before but I want to check mine out. Do I just go to pingtest.net or speedtest.net and fill somethings out or what?

I really wish Time Warner would upgrade their God awful upload speeds, though...

Go to both and just run the tests.

Ok I couldn't wait so I went to Comcast to get the equipment and self install it myself instead of waiting till friday and have them come over and set it up. Here is my new results.

                I'm on the 12/2 plan.

I have 12, 18 just doesn't seem worth it as 12 meets all my needs. There are a lot of hotspots, but I usually need it. Basically they contract with places, so as long as it isn't Sprint or Tmobile hotspot, you should have access.

I did a Speedtest at school and was amazed by the results. I have no idea why they have so much upload. It seems unnecessary, but it is BLAZING fast, nonetheless.

Being you are at school, you are on a T1 line. The reason for the high upload is because schools really are a businessm, so therefore you have thousands of people hitting up the school website an hour, plus all the staff and students using the network at the same time.

A T1 is only 1.544mb down and up. That connection is more like a DS 3.

Hell it is something LOL. All I know in the USA the only closes thing to get that type of speed in a regular house is FIOS. I remember when I was in Japan and S. Korea damn near everybody had that kind of speed in their houses.
