His lack of an understanding of IQ tests and their relevance to intelligence was also pretty annoying. Saying you have an IQ of 140 (which him being truthful on this is highly unlikely, hell almost impossible considering that is almost 3 standard deviations away from then mean) doesn't mean you are intelligent.

My question is more along the lines of why would a man who claims such intelligence be trolling around a message board playing 2K basketball? Wouldn't he have much more important things, I remember vaguely that Mensa potentially gave out grant money to its members to use for research and other scholarly pursuits...why wouldn't a man with a supposed 140 IQ be receiving and using that if it existed, rather than wasting his time playing a game?

Short answer? He without a doubt made that up and is probably insecure and looking for attention. I wouldn't be the least bit suprised if he had an I.Q in the 90's (although as you said your I.Q result doesn't always equate to how intelligent you are). And I don't think he came on here intending to troll, he was so out of touch with reality that he genuinely seemed to believe what he was saying.

Funny how that worked out isn't it? Personally I think delusions and pathological lying are really interesting and its people like that poster who genuinely fascinate me, and that is part of the reason I chose the degree and career path that I'm on right now as a future Psych major.

But that thread was one big train wreck from the second he posted that first video. I have never played 2K13, but I've read its filled with players like him online.

I never said he sucked, hell I didn't even watch his videos. All I said was that it's unnecessary to make a thread to challenge apparent "cheesers" on OS, and he got all riled up about it.

He shouldn't have been banned though. He was the one person that proved the Earth was actually cooling, not warming, thus leading to everyone now saying Climate Change instead of Global Warming.

Let's look at the rules he broke in just one thread:

- Political Talk

- Misbehavior (though some others were provoking him, but alas, he verbally attacked some)

- Profanity: His videos had very, very harsh language that he himself said

- Spread Rumors (Political rumors, none the less [global "cooling"])

And finally,

- Trolling

Now, a lot of people break these rules and aren't banned for it, sure, but this guy did all of them simultaneously. That warrants a ban, in my honest opinion.

He insulted everyone in the thread (called them stupid) and did little but troll the boards. He should have been banned before the best post in that thread - I'm just glad we got that out of him before he left.

Dude every single post he made was ridiculous. It's wasn't just that thread. He made another thread a few weeks earlier about Andre Drummond that made no sense at all.
