Yeah, but you can usually figure them out on the phone I've found.

Most people I've met from online have been fun to talk to, and then sometimes we click in person sometimes not...I haven't had a truly bad experience going through legit dating sites. Yeah, if i'm looking for a lay or something you'll run into more crazies, but actually looking for someone to date hasn't been bad.

Even if we don't click the date isn't horrible or anything.

Exactly............that is what cell phones and web cams are for. I don't ever trust a woman's picture online. 8 times out of 10, that picture either be 5 or more years old OR it is not them to begin with.

I use to tell women all the time before I even meet you anywhere, you better get on web cam for I can see what you look like in real life. Because good lord over the years back in the day, most of the women I came across online with size 6 bodies on their pic, in real life they were 240 pounds now.

Posting pics of themselves 10 years ago BEFORE they had kids when they were still in college. Some dudes be doing that too. Be saying they 6'4, when in real life they only 5'6. Or be saying they got their own crib, when in reality they living in their parents basement. Or even worse, saying they have a job, when they haven't had a job in YEARS.

And don't get me started on the dudes that rent cars to visit women and be acting like it is their CAR. When in reality the car they really own is a 1992 escort.

Haha my gf met a guy who said he was 6' but definitely wasn't. She's 5'9

        I'm 6'3 so didn't have to lie

Oh and her pictures didn't do her justice!

Lets hope they are picking up one of those women with a fake tan, fake nails, fake eyelashes, colored contacts, dyed hair, with extensions, wearing a pushup bra and booty pop pants.......

Gotmadskillzson - Yeah I was a little worried about Stefanie because she is a little heavy in her pics on the site so I wondered if she'd be 300 pounds but she actually is better looking than her pics on the dating site. I was very happy when I saw her standing there.

I know she had to have known I looked how I really do because I have like a ton of pics on Facebook of myself, although she probably was relieved to see I wasn't 5'5" or something.

Hahaha that is hilarious! I always got the facebook. They put up 2-3 of the BEST pictures...but you can't blame them. Then they say how they love working out and you're thinking everything is good.

FB saved me a couple times from meeting thick girls. One looked EXACTLY like Sarah Palin...a younger version. Saw the FB never talked with her again haha.

Yes I'm shallow...I don't care what I'm viewed as. We all are to an extent at least I'm open about it.

You like what you like, everyone has different tastes. Personally I do not like thin women at all. You could have the nicest looking blonde but if she's 100 pounds i'm probably not interested. I prefer average or even a little heavier and curvier. It just is what it is.

Btw - I probably would have LOVED your Sarah Palin girl stewaat. I'm kind of obsessed with the real life Palin so she sounds fantastic, lol!

Man, the Myspace angle pic is a killer. Before I deleted my MySpace page I used to look at some of my female co-workers pages and pics. Lol, most of them look nothing like their pictures. And what's worse is the guys who leave like 300+ comments talking bout "yo, you a dime baby". Lol, if they only knew.

You might want to keep that tidbit of information to yourself for the next couple dates, LOL.

Does it make me old and/or outdated if my best internet success story is AOL Buddy List Instant Messenger related? It's a really dorky story to boot.

I was talking to my ex-GF on AOL one day and I noticed her screenname on my buddy list had multi-colored text so I made small talk about how it made my buddy list look cool, brightened things up, yadda, yadda, yadda. I expressed faux concern about her name being the only one on my list that was shaded in a lively manner, so she willingly gave me the screenname of one of her friends (of whom I did not know) who also had a colored name. So, for the next two months, I had a strangers' screenname on my buddy list just because I thought it looked neat.

Finally, eight weeks later, after working through my nightly routine of checking away messages (last decade's version of the Status Update) I decided to throw out a random response to the strangers' away message and that's all it took to get things rolling. We ended up talking for a while that night, then on subsequent nights before agreeing to hang out over Thanksgiving Break. She came over to my house and I'd made a turkey shaped cake for her (I'd jokingly told her I would). She loved it, we ate cake, went to a movie then dated for a few years. Success!

One I do remember is this chick I was talking to that didn't have a picture. She went to my college, and her description sounded nice. We even talked on the phone. One night, she wanted me to come over, but it was kinda late, so I declined. Anyways we decided to meet up on campus the next day. I saw the chick in person, and she she coulda have been ok...but her grill was BUSTED. I didn't even wanna be seen with her...I was walking like 5 paces ahead of her. Then I made up an excuse that I had something to do, and never spoke to her again....yeah, I was a jerk.

As for my success story, there was one that sticks out. There was chick who didn't have a pic on her page, but I talked to her anyway because she was a nice girl and real friendly and cool. She would always make up excuses as to why she didn't have a photo, but I didn't care cause I was away at college and I only chatted online to waste time. Flash-forward about a year, I graduated, and was back in my hometown (where she lived as well). I was still cool with this picture-less chick. She worked right in the Loop (downtown Chicago) and would ask me to come see her at work. One day, I happened to be downtown, and I gave her a call. I was at FYE reading a mag, and she told me she was on her way there. I was nervous since she didn't have a photo. I held a magazine over my face so I could spot her before she saw me. Then she approached me. Man...this chick was FINE! We would start hanging out. Normally, I would try to smash a chick ASAP, but I had so much respect for her, I wasn't even thinking about it. I really thought she was the one, but she would never let me get too close. Turns out she had a boyfriend, so I pretty much treated her differently after that, and eventually lost contact. I guess the story wasn't so successful afterall.
Or she didn't like the way you looked and made up a lie about a boyfriend. Hahaha!
