Hell yeah. Once you get deep into a season, the thrill of the playoff chase and the playoffs keeps the game fresh and fun. Then you reload in the offseason and have fun with your rebuilt team. The game isn't different, but what makes up the game (your team, sliders, whatever) is. I can't play an FPS or adventure game two times over, but I can play a sports game almost endlessly because of franchise modes.

And I agree with another poster who said the issue is maturity. When did playing a game to have fun get lost in the craze of online multiplayer? Now it's all about having the highest rank no matter the means. Doesn't seem like fun to me...

      .
Exactly, it provides a game with in the game. You get to play the actual games, then you have all of the management aspects. Whether it's recruiting in college games or free agency/drafting in pro games, it's so much fun. So many times I get more amped for the off-season/management aspect of dynasty mode than playing the actual games.

I hear ya. Last year, while I was playing NCAA 10, I spent soooo much time recruiting. My girlfriend actually said "I thought this was supposed to be a football game".

I will forever be an offline gamer. I love playing with the guy beside me, it just adds a lot more fun to playing. Online is just flawed. Glitches, idiots, cheesers etc. Not worth it.

I'm the same with offline dynasties but online dynasty mode in NCAA is the sh**. It's pretty much the only reason I bought '10 and they are slowly making all the offline features available online. The only advantage for offline is you can play at your own pace, granted that's a huge advantage for most.

I spend more time recruiting and doing off-season tasks then I do playing the games lol. I love it. When I get into November in my seasons I start getting anxious for it to end, just so I can get into the off-season lol.

For long games I play strategy games like Tropico 3, Civilization, Supreme Commander, etc.......

Never got into Fallout........but I loved Mass Effect 2 and Dragon Age. Assassin Creed 2 was a pretty good length game as well.

lol, totally agree. My roommate threw his controller across the room the other night over MW2. Oh, and the Reach beta is basically MW2 with it's new "classes". I've just resorted to Bad Company 2, least I can play with my friends and I don't have to hear anyone talk.

I def reinforces your point because the only FPS with lengthy SP modes are the ones without any online MP component (i mean ME1/2 and FO, i never played Borderlands). The single player modes are generally very well done but yeah they are getting ridiculously short.

It just baffles me that in the year 2010, the CPU AI in these games are still stupid...

I hate what online gaming has done...

yes, gaming online with friends is cool but you have to play on their schedule and not your own vs a kids who play all day on the weekend or after school....

Online gaming with randoms eliminated the fun out of games, its all competitive now...These guys will do anything to get numbers...SMH

Yeah, offline single player has definitely taken a hit with the success of XBL and online gaming.
