If I lived through an apocalypse somehow, I'd kill myself. Seriously. I'll take my chances with whatever's on the other side.

Re: In Post-Apocalyptic Earth Would you Survive?
Whether you think you will survive the apocalypse is irreverent, the opening event will take down the Majority of the population. Think about it, what would kill billions of People in a Short period of Time , Illness, Nuclear war, Famine? All of these will kill indiscriminately thus surviving will not be a matter of wills but blind luck.
Assuming you did survive the Opening round of the Apocalypse, It basically comes down to if you can kill. If you can kill another human being to survive then you will live that much longer. Without any semblance of order, The strongest will live, the weakest will die. Could you kill another person for a bottle of water? My dog's butt smells like cookiesComment

Re: In Post-Apocalyptic Earth Would you Survive?
Just thinking about this really makes you think how well we really have it. People used to live in caves, man. That's incredible to think about.
The world would be flipped completely upside down, so any thoughts I have now wouldn't really be relevant in that backwards world. So if I did survive "the event," I think I could survive because it would definitely change me. When you go from, what, 6 billion to who knows how many, things change. Yeah, I'd fight life and limb for a bottle of water if that's what it takes. You're either going to die or get a bottle of water; each seems not so bad in that existence.NHL - Philadelphia Flyers

From a logic stand point...I think most fiction gets the supplies issue all wrong. Sure, they would be hoarding but the reality is with a reduced population base...the demand is now severely cut (at first).
Secondly, unless it dropped the numbers real low...the last place you want to scavenge at is Walmarts and Gun shops...where every other person who's seen a zombie film would head for as soon as they calmed down enough to think.Comment

You gotta point there but of course you just don't pull up at the front right away and take a number. You gotta scope the joint out from a distance and make sure everything is clear to the best of your ability. My intent really is to get a firearm I'm most familiar with. In my case an M16, a DE and/or a 45.

Re: In Post-Apocalyptic Earth Would you Survive?
You know the gun thing is a catch 22 to me...
A. The sound alone announces where you are if you have to use it. And if it's zombies or scavengers...not a great thing.
B. Ammo. That's gonna run out and then you're back to putting yourself in iffy situations to get more.Comment

If zombies are roaming the world, the only answer is this: Go to Pacific Playland.
Leaving the lights off would probably be a pretty solid idea, though.Member: OS Uni Snob Association | Twitter: @MyNameIsJesseG | #WT4M | #WatchTheWorldBurn

I have the knowledge and problem solving ability to do it. It's just that up until the event were to happen I'd have no inclination to test it out. I'd put up a pretty good fight. My latest project - Madden 12 http://www.operationsports.com/forum...post2043231648Comment

If you KNOW the event is coming then get an underground location. Use 85-90% of your savings on bottled water and food. Use the remainder on weapons for when you eventually decide to come out.

Re: In Post-Apocalyptic Earth Would you Survive?
I think we could survive. I have been in some pretty tough spots in my life and I have actually given this some thought in those long hours of the night when you cant sleep and your mind just races. One thing I have always wonder'd about is why everybody stays on land. Get food supplies and weapons steal a nice size boat with both sail and power float just off shore where nobody can get you easily but stay close to shore to re-supply. This allows you to travel with weather and be secure and have a view of your surroundings. Plus zombies cant swim.
Oh yeah I do love my zombie movies and games so sue me!!In Loving memory of my "Cricket" 1/2/96 - 11/19/2012
