I use hand sanitizer, and make sure to keeps my hands a way from my mouth, eyes, and nose.

I was just watching the news and they say people in general are washing their hands more often then what they used to... With that said at the Braves baseball stadium, Woman the left the restroom washed their hands to the tune of 98% and Men just 5% of the time... I don't know about you but it makes me SICK when I am in the bathroom at a public place and see people use the bathroom whether it be #1 or #2 and then DON'T wash their hands.. Come on.... How long does it take, A minute at the most...

If I'm in a public restroom after I take a piss I will not wash my hands. Because if I want to wash my hands, I have to touch more things in there. My goals it to get in and get out while touching as little as possible.

Of course at work I always wash my hands no matter what, and after a # 2 definently.

I always use hand sanitizer throughout the day also.

I know what you mean. Sometimes I feel like the best thing to do is go in stealth mode and not touch anything...hands free.

My rating of a restaurant improves though if they have bathroom doors with handles to enter and an exit to push the door open. This makes it easy to exit without touching anything on the door except maybe kicking it. If it's a handle I wait until someone else opens the door. If no one is in the room I use a paper towel and then through it out upon leaving. If there are no paper towels I try and open the door from the top.

Basically I'm a freak but public restrooms are disgusting.

OMG I am a hand washing freak! Im surprised I still have finger prints.

I wash my hands before/after I put in my contacts
Before I cook/eat any food/after Im done eating
During the cooking If I crack an egg or touch any kind of box or packaging gotta wash
After I blow my nose
Before handling my childrens cups/sippy cups/plates
After using someones keyboard/mouse at work
If I goto a hospital to visit someone I have to wash my hands like 5 times while Im there and before I leave
After using any restroom
(I also use the paper towel I dried my hands with to open the bathroom door and throw it in the garbage because if the guy before you didnt wash and he opened the door and now you have washed but your openeing the door you are getting his crap that he wiped on the door on your hands)

It's simple to me.

If I was about to shake someones hand, and right before that they stuck their hands down their pants to adjust themselves, I would not shake their hand.

Therefore, I wash my hands every time I use the rest room and unless you would shake the hand of the other person in the scenario above, I don't understand why anyone wouldn't.

Regarding public bathrooms and not wanting to touch anything, I understand, but just grab a paper towel while the water is running, turn off the faucet and open the door and then toss it in the next trash can you see.

A little girl?? Really?? Just cause you know where your schwang has been you still touch everything afterwards... In other words who's to say you don't have a disease and after you go in the Home Depot bathroom you start touching carts and things like that... I don't want to touch your Schwang Juice LOL.... But seriously, How long does it take to soap up your hands?? Like the poster above said, grab a towel before hand... Especially alot of newer places now make a sensor faucet where you don' thave to touch anything..

I sure you guys have heard it but this reminds of the joke with the Marine and the Squid in the head.

Marine and Squid are taking a leak. Marine finishes and goes to walk out the door.

Squid says; "You know, in the Navy they teach us to wash our hands when we finish taking a leak."

Marine Says; "In the Marine Corps they teach to not piss on our hands"...

Yeah, I'm pretty much like this too.

Using the paper towel to open the door...I do that every time I use a public bathroom. I open the door with the paper towel, hold the door open with my foot, and toss the paper towel in the trash. It's pointless to wash your hands and then touch the door handle. Because you're getting poop and weiner germs all over ya...

Yeah, I just said poop and weiner germs... lol
