And it's really interesting too.....people seem to take on the personality of their teams and vice versa. The Braves/Texans/Suns/Sabres are the definition of class organizations. Though the Suns have awful basketball management, but that's different.

I see a lot of myself in the teams I root for.

      Born in '88.

Bobcats fan only because my beloved Hornets were stolen from me because of a son of a bitch owner that wanted the city to build him a new arena, although the Charlotte Coliseum was pretty new to begin with.

Dolphins fan because well I got it from my father. I remember sitting there watching games with him in my little Dan Marino jersey. I'm older than the Panthers so I do not follow them.

Dodgers fan because that's who my dad rooted for(he is also a Lakers fan) and that team just stuck with me.

NCSU/UNCC have my heart because I paid tuition at both schools.

Don't care for Ice Soccer, but will watch Hurricanes games when they are in the playoffs.

I do too, all my teams have either ******* owners or known to be an ******* fan, and I think I can be that way.

          I see that now.

As far as the team thing.. The main reason for all of my teams is they were the local teams when I grew up(I lived in Indiana for 15 of my 21 years). Much easier to watch and follow them. But there's also family ties there since a lot of my family is from Indiana and roots for most of the same teams. My dad also went to IU and my grandpa went to Notre Dame and I was always given IU, ND, Colts, etc. gear growing up. That said, you can pretty much call me an Indiana sports fan because I root for any Indiana team. Even Purdue(except when they're playing IU, but it doesn't bother me if they beat them like it should given that both schools are HUGE rivals ).
          Indianapolis Colts
          Indiana Pacers
          Indiana Hoosiers
          Notre Dame Fighting Irish

I like having no expectations, and I like having my heart ripped out of my chest year after year. How else could you explain me being a Royals, Chiefs, and pre-Mario Chalmers KU fan? Well, if you ignore the whole living in KC thing. lol

              Let's see - teams

Eagles: Fan from birth, remember the Rodney Peete, Bobby Hoying days. I really started becoming a fan when McNabb got drafted, though.

Phillies: Same thing, only I started becoming a big fan around 2003-ish. I rember the Mike Lieberthal days, the Randy Wolf days, Doug Glanville and and Rico Brogna
              Eagles | Phillies | Sixers | Flyers

-As far as baseball, I only started watching baseball a lot in 2004, and that summer we took this PAL trip to an O's/Devil Rays game. I was always a Miguel Tejada fan, and after seeing OPACY in person, I was sold.

-In football I was a really big Marshall Faulk/Torry Holt fan, so I rooted for the Rams, but from like '04-'08 I really only paid attention to the playoffs and Super Bowl. When I was originally going away to college I wanted to pick a team close to there so I could watch, so I picked the Browns. That worked well

-Basketball is kinda meh, because I hate the NBA because it's just one big gambling operation. I used to love Shaq, Penny Hardaway, Shawn Kemp, and Gary Payton growing up so I rooted big time for the Sonics and Magic. I still root for the Magic because of J.J., and I root for the Thunder too, but if the Sonics ever come back I'll probably go with them.

-I've always been a Flyers fan. Most of my family are, but my aunt and her then boyfriend/now husband really got me hooked.

-I've been a Duke fan since I was like 6 or 7...my grandfather would always get these Sports Illustrated highlight tapes, and one of them had Christian Laettner's shot against Kentucky on it, so I decided that was good enough reason to pick them.

-For college football, I've recently started rooting for Duke in that, but I'm still a Florida fan. It was basically another case of me not having a team and picking one. I liked the colors, always liked the mascot as a kid, and really liked the Urban Meyer hire.

-Soccer's been the big problem because most of the time I root for the teams because of the players and not because of the team themselves. I've stuck with City but will still root for Dempsey and Drogba regardless of what team they play for.
Didn't you use to root for the Suns and Nets at one point because I definitely remember you having both teams in your sig as favorite NBA Teams?

                  Re: Off Topic 2011

Besides Orlando, Oklahoma State, and somewhat Florida, all of my favorite teams were born from video games. The Lions and Canadiens were the earliest because of NHL and Madden '92. I was born in '91 and started playing video games at the age of two. It pretty much consisted of my older brother kicking my *** because I had only a slight idea of what was happening, but I ended up realizing the running back for Detroit was much better than all the others. I asked my dad who he was and even though I didn't start really following sports as much till I was around 9-10, I stayed with the Lions.

Upon starting to follow College Football I found out which college my favorite player ever went to and that is why I'm an Oklahoma State fan. Florida is somewhat because of video games. I liked the stadium chant and their colors. If I wasn't a Gators fan, I'd probably be a fan of the Yellow Jackets. I didn't like Georgia before I started following. I thought their logo was a Green Bay rip-off lol (which also would explain why Southern > Grambling). I do cheer for a couple teams to win their conference every year, but I'm not bothered when they lose. They aren't listed in my sig though.

I also disliked any team my dad cheered for growing up. So the Braves, Redskins, and any team Shaq played for, I hated. That means for a point in time I hated the Magic. T-Mac is the reason I like them though. Originally I was a Pacers fan as Reggie Miller is my favorite player ever. I'm glad to see them squeak into the playoffs again finally. I also liked a certain team that moved away from it's original city.

I think the Eagles were really the only team I started following while they were actually pretty good. I blame McNabb for that one. Roenick for the Flyers. At that point I just thought the city of Philly must be great so I started following the Phillies. Didn't care for AI and the Sixers though.

Look at all these yougins up in here.......

Anyway.....born in 79 in the greatest city ever, Chicago.

                    Therefore I am a .........

Bulls fan, grew up on the westside of Chicago and use to walk past Chicago Stadium aka "the madhouse on madison" everyday.

Blackhawks fan because they use to kick arse and I had a Blackhawks hockey stick as a kid signed by some player in the early 80s.

White Sox fan because I hate Wrigellyville neighborhood aka "Boys Town"

I was also a Chicago Sting fan, even had their jersey as a kid.

                    Bears fan of course.

College football Florida St, I always loved their uniform and war chant. When I was 3 years old I use to run around the house saying it over and over.

College basketball never really had a favorite team, didn't pay much to college hoops that closely to really care.

                    Euro soccer......Manchester United

Giants- because I became a fan when they drafted Rivers(freaking Eli). The organization was starting over so I hopped on the train.

Yankees- no idea. I just knew not to be a Mets fan.

Knicks- thats all I heard about growing up in NYC

Syracuse- I go there. And I was a fan of a NY college D1 school. St. Johns didnt have football so screw them.

Kinda Sorta The University of Miami- I just love the teams they built on the early 2000's and the legacy of great players they had. i used to follow them so much better in the past, but they mean very little to me now.

Margartia night backfired.. so I've been at my house for almost 28 hours straight.. very unusual for me... lol.

One of my good friends (I say good because we've been friends since we were both 5 years old and both now 21) is about to have a baby girl here in a few days. (I say he is, but it's really his girlfriend.. lol).. so we're going to go out tomorrow night.. because before the end of next week he's going to be a father.

I'm excited for him... It's just crazy knowing he's going to have a kid. I guess it's all part of growing up. I'm only 21, yet I feel like I'm a lot older.. It's been three years since I graduated and I haven't accomplished much except eliminate the majority of my debt and find a steady job.

My fanhood story is pretty boring.

Red Sox, Dolphins, Celtics, and Tulsa I got from my Dad.

Bruins: I don't really follow Ice Soccer, so I just started liking them a while back because they're from Boston. I don't really watch their games but I watch all of their playoffs games if I can. I wouldn't really call myself a big fan of them or anything, but I definitely root for them in the playoffs and in other games of theirs that I see. I would probably follow them more if I actually lived in Boston though.

Wow I have some old stuff on my DVR. Finally getting around to watching some stored up shows thanks to ESPN wiping away my afternoon lineup in favor of golf . Anyway, it's kinda weird watching Christmas specials in April.

I can only name a handful of golfers.
That's because of ESPN and playing the TW games.

The TW games are fun and the It's a fun sport to play, but I can't watch it. I've mentioned it before, but I live so close to a golf course that I can throw a football and probably hit it.

When I go to my sisters house, my brother in law always has the man cave TV on golf and I don't know how he watches it.
