If you want to know what you will look and smell like, go check out a homeless person.

The "what would you look and smell like if you never showered" thread is over here.

I'm not going to lie, I've went months without using shampoo and never noticed anything different about my hair. I've never tried the no-soap, thing, though, and not sure I want to. Please note that I still got my hair wet, but I never shampooed it. I don't think it really got any more oily or anything and, if anything, it seemed to help the dandruff I have. I think sometimes the shampoos dry out my scalp, which is bad for my dandruff/scalp psoriasis, but unfortunately for me even prescription shampoos don't help my dandruff/psoriasis issue.

I haven't gone without soap, but I haven't washed my dreads in a while, my wife doesn't, and hasn't noticed any smells. And she would totally make it a point to tell me "wash your g*****m dreads motherf*****" in those exact words lol.

I don't think i could do the no soap thing though.

I go to the gym at least 5 times a week, there's no way that I'll stop taking showers.

That was my fault, I thought the story in this thread was the same as this one I read about these people who stopped taking regular showers for the same reasons as the guy you're talking about stopped using soap.

Well im on day 5 of no shampoo. Still no real difference, although my scalp gets itchy from time to time.

As an aside, I never have really used soap except for face wash or the occasional use soap when I am really dirty.

Soap has always dried out my skin and made it really irritated.

I personally never use shampoo. It would mess up my hair and make my scalp dry and itchy.

I sometimes shower without soap, I just don't have the time for it. But I rinse off and deodorize, etc. No one says a thing and to be honest I don't smell a difference, except maybe in fragrance but not in actual odor.

Definitely interesting...keep us posted, just wondering at what length does this stuff stop. Do you use an aluminum-based deodorant? Do you eat any processed foods? Do you put uv protection on your computer? Do you wash your clothes with laundry detergent? Do you wear clothes at all?

I'm not knocking it, in fact I am very tempted to try it, just wondering how "Paleolithic" people get.
