I also watched a move on netflix called: Fat, Sick and Nearly Dead and it was so inspirational, it helped me make my decision easier. I don't think i can give up fish but I want to try the juice fasting that they do in the documentary.

I highly recommend the movie, I'm hoping it can change my life, that's how much it moved me.

Awesome thanks man I'll give it a watch. It even has an Aussie in it.

I like any movies about these sort of things. A movie called Fat Head is pretty interesting if you have the time.

yeah he is awesome guy. and what he did for Phil is amazing. I actually I haven't met an Aussie I didn't like. I went there for a month when I was kid and never met anyone that was not great. Nicest people in the world

As a nation we are generally pretty friendly etc but trust me there are plenty of Aussie douche bags just like any nationality, you just got lucky so far.

To get back OT as I posted in the insanity thread my body is stupid. For the first few weeks of the program I didn't lose anything and actually gained a few lbs then I step on the scales this morning and boom I lost 3kg (6.6lbs) in the last week.

Just got my new Juicer and it was my first time ever making a drink. I have to get to the grocery store but juiced 3 tomatoes, 3 carrots and a cucumber for my first drink

I was expecting the worse but it was surprisingly very good. I can see this becoming a new lifestyle and immediately felt great within minutes after drinking it.

Anyone else here use a juicer? Any recipes?

I know next to nothing about juicing but I was curious because I read the synopsis of that movie on IMDB and it says he consumes nothing but juice for the 60 days or something like that? Where do you get any form of protein from that sort of thing? I mean sure you'd get heaps of healthy vitamins / minerals etc but it's basically all carbs, no fat, no protein isn't it?

Just watched that myself. Wow, what an inspirational film.

I really feel like this could spur me to make a real change in my eating habits. I am nowhere near the size of Phil but seeing that he lost half his body weight just by bearing down is inspirational. It's also amazing to think that the phone call he made asking for help was probably the biggest single step that he took.

And just like Jonesy likes the Aussie... it featured Iowans as well How crazy was it that the woman he met in New York and the trucker he met in Arizona were both from our great Cyclone State? Pretty awesome.

A lot for me to think about tonight, thanks to this movie.

I'm 5'8 and I started out weighing 191. After watching what I ate and exercising twice a week I took off 24 pounds in 2 months. I feel and look a lot better know and hope to keep going!

Thanks for putting me onto the movie mate, really enjoyed it. Phil's story was very touching and the film had some great messages.

I'm not going to be doing any 60 day juice/vege fasts or anything but it did inspire to step up my game in relation to eating more healthy foods and less processed crap and booze.

Just finished a big plate of steamed veges and a skinless grilled chicken breast.

No problem. I've showed this to a couple people already, in no means I would want them to quit eating meat or even fast, but to at least be aware and be motivated to become healthier.

Its been about week since I gave up meat (except fish) and started juicing everyday and I've lost 10 pounds. But I feel amazing which has been something I haven't felt in a long time.

Today did tricep workouts, the eliptical for 30 mins and shot around on the court but put up a bunch of airballs haha. Tomorrow I'm hittin those shots

Well I finally took a step in the right direction again. Over the past week I have cut out all of the snacks and extra eating I have been doing. Got some (but not enough) exercise in, too. The meals I ate were not healthy enough yet, but are getting better. And I ended up losing 2 pounds over the past week. That put me at 275.6 pounds.

I know I can do better, which actually raises my spirits some more, knowing that this is the tip of the iceberg. But even more importantly, this feels like it's more of a permanent change than other changes in my eating and exercising have been. I'll keep plugging away and hopefully get closer to 3 lbs lost over this next week. My goal is 273 or less when I weigh in next Monday.

At the beginning of the year i weighed 220lbs at 6'0. Today im down to 185lbs. I did it by not really exercising all that much, but eating and drinking the right things. Cut soda out of your diet and substitute it with water and you'll be surprised at the results.

I have been a strict vegetarian for more than three years now and it was easily the best lifestyle change I have ever made.
