Sounds good man. The saying "it's not a diet, its a lifestyle change" is very true. No point going balls to the wall crazy with an extreme diet and exercise routine if it's not sustainable and you get burnt out and quit after a few weeks.

I think that is why i am really enjoying my current split where i alternate weight lifting days and cardio days then have one day off a week. When i was lifting 5 days per i was getting kinda sick of it towards the end of the week whereas now i get a day off every 2nd day and am finding the time i am training to be more focused and intense and my recovery is better as well. Plus i'm actually enjoying running now and getting better at each week, never thought i would say that!

      This weekend was bad food-wise.

We'll see the damage tomorrow, I guess.

I've now gone 7 days without sugar, caffeine or alcohol of any kind and have stayed below 2500 calories each day. I've also worked out for about 30 minutes a day on average. I will weigh myself again tomorrow afternoon and if I haven't lost any weight yet I'm going to be livid.

Great work! Hope you keep it up

I'm getting pretty down on myself at the moment. Two weeks ago, I was at a low point of 266.4. I weighed in last week and had gained about three pounds. Weighed in again today at 271.0. The worst part is I know exactly what I am doing wrong. But whenever I do it I am able to rationalize it in the moment.

Need to buckle down - my current weight is higher than what I weighed in at on 1/10... disheartening

              Re: OS Weight Loss 2011

Thanks! My whole diet is just basically no sugar of any kind (in solids OR liquids) and no alcohol. Other than that, I pretty much eat what I want and keep it under 2500 calories a day.

As far as exercise goes, I work out with 25 lb. dumbbells every other day and this is my routine:

              100 hammer curls - 50 per arm:

100 overhead triceps extensions - 50 per arm:

              50 upright rows:

              50 seated shoulder presses:

100 single arms rows - 50 per arm:

              50 flat chess presses:

              50 flat chest flies:

On top of that, I do about 15 minutes of cardio a day, usually jogging and I do as many crunches as I can until my stomach can't take anymore. That's pretty much it.

Sticking with my diet good right now. I'm really enjoying it, as i'm always satisfied, but never with the bloated, full feeling. I was able to slam down a HUGE salad last night with light ranch dressing to the tune of about 150-200 calories.

Finished my first workout today with the kettlebells. Let me tell you, if you want to get the sweat pouring off of you, there's nothing better. I thought I was gonna die, but kept pushing. Thing is, you are working against the kettlebell at all times, so your body is constantly working all of your major muscles to stabilize it.

Gonna weight myself Friday and see what progress i've made. I weighed in at work last Friday (weight loss challenge at work) at 210, so i'm hoping to have trimmed a few pounds. We'll see!

I've always wanted to try the kettlebells, looks like something a bit different that i would enjoy.

I just signed up with a charity called feb fast http://febfast.org.au/ I basically go a month without any alcohol (a big deal for me as i have been a big drinker for many years) and raise money for some alcohol related charities. I hope to raise $500 or so for a good cause and also help myself by being healthier and totally stopping the booze.

I joined a website called myfitnesspal that helps me track my calories. it has a huge database where i can add food and also add recipes if i wanted to. its cool because it logs my exercise and adds the calories i burn to my daily goal.

its good that it posts to FB so ppl can see my progress. motivation helps. so far i lost 7 lbs and i started it 2 weeks ago =D

I've really cleaned my diet up A LOT and would guess I've dropped at least five pounds.

I am guessing because I am only weighing myself twice a month. I used to do the whole way myself every other day thing, but it's easy to get discouraged.

When the weather warms up a bit, I will run at night... But for now, it's all about eating very healthy and lifting.

I am playing in Spokane's Hoopfest, the largest 3-on-3 basketball tournament in the world... My goal is to be 230 by then; I'm at around 255 now. Should be very attainable considering it's nearly five months away... I can't wait.

So pumped. Weighed 210 last Friday, and when I weighed in at work yesterday, I was down to 205. I'm loving the diet, as it's nothing too restricting or unsatisfying, and loving the kettlebell workouts. Can't wait to melt off the pounds!

Next step is to clean the garage when it warms up so I can start hitting the heavy bag again.

                            Congrats man!

If I get to 230, it'll be the lowest I've been in about eight years.

Granted, I'll be pretty lean at 230 because I'm 6'6" but once I hit that weight, I'll really focus on weight training and get myself back up to the 240-245 range.

                            Keep up the good work!

This weekend is going to be havoc. Family came over yesterday, and Super Bowl tomorrow....ugh. Thinking about just chalking this weekend as a loss and treating it as a "cheat" weekend.
