Risk: Factions is 50% off on XBL right now. It's been forever since I've played (like years). So long that I'm rusty on the rules. I think I'm going to pull the trigger on this though for 5 bucks.

Bumping up an oldie thread, but has anyone played the Game of Thrones boardgame by Fantasy Flight Games? I just found out about this two weeks ago, and the reviews sound great...BUT, it's out-of-print and there may or may not be a reprint later this year (depending on cost of materials and price point according to the FFG guys here in MN).

It sounds amazing, a combo of Risk/Axis & Allies/Catan/Dominion, no dice roll randomness, and full of strategy, alliances, and betrayal, so yeah, I'm debating whether it's worth a game store/Ebay hunt or if I should just sit and pray that FFG takes advantage of the show's success and gets it re-released.

Man, I wish I could find some people to play Risk with. I'm pretty sure we have had it at the house for a few years with half the pieces of plastic still not punched out... lol. My godmother's husband used to play it with me every time he came to town when I was a kid. Him and his friends taught me a lot of strategy and how to play, but I can't remember anything. I even looked to see if I could find a free version that was worth playing online, but I didn't have any luck.

Sounds great. Can't wait to here about it.

Ah, I remember that game. You'd go around a mansion and there were a bunch of ways to die. My brother and I played that a lot as kids.

Anyways, my favs are in no particular order: Risk (can't find anyone to play these days), Clue, Scrabble, Monopoly, Settlers, and Cranium.

I'm pretty sure I saw a Game of Thrones board game at the Borders that went out of buisness like two months ago.

They seem pretty pricey on Amazon.

                            Her top three probably runs:

                            1) Ticket to Ride
                            2) Settlers
                            3) Dominion
Now THOSE are some board games. A lot of you guys need to drop the boring American board games like Monopoly, etc.

Pick up Settlers of Catan, Ticket to Ride, Colisseum, and then once you get a feel for that, move on up to Puerto Rico, Agricola, etc.

Friends are too cool for a board/boxed game, apparently.

Monopoly, Pictionary, Risk, Axis & Allies, Jenga, Scrabble are the first that came to mind.
