Favorite board game by far currently is Battlestar Galactica. A more recent favorite is Pandemic, and we just recently played Twilight Imperium for the first time last weekend... Want to get the expansions but apparently I'd have to pay over $150 for one of them, guess I'll be waiting for a reprint or something.

I love BSG! It's amazing how much it recreates the show's paranoia and sense of doom, especially with the right group of people. TI3 is another favorite, but the Shattered Empire expansion fixes a lot of things about the base game, making politics a more attractive strategy, changing up the Imperial card, and the Tech II and Trade II cards are much more effective as well. I'm sure FFG will reprint them eventually (they still have them at their store here in MN).

Candy Land played all the time as a kid. If I had people to play with Risk would be my favorite. Only got to play once in my life though

I actually found I was wrong, the expansion I want is the one you mentioned. The expansion that's $150 is Shards of the Throne.

Only reason I haven't ordered Shattered Empire is because no Prime Shipping options, lol.

Based on some of these response maybe I should have just started a new thread... BSG, Descent, Waterdeep, TI3... those are the kinds of games I wanted to talk about... We also just recently played the hell out of Legendary, the Marvel deck building game.

Shards is being reprinted based upon the FFG website. So even with the steep price, it's on it's way.

I just played Descent: 2nd Edition this past Saturday and it's awesome. I can't wait to start a campaign with my family (though I'll let my wife be Overlord as she's sad my son and I crushed her in Risk: Legacy). Lords of Waterdeep is so simple it's amazing. It's worker placement, like so many Euros (many I like) but the secret agenda and the quests are just too fun.

SuperBowlNachos, glad to hear it! Just know that the game is kind of daunting initially and you have to play with people that won't get butt hurt for being accused of being a Cylon. It's fairly long as well. Still, it's a fantastic game, and with the expansions adding the ability to execute people and having a Cylon fleet board that presents a continual sense of impending doom...it's awesome. Over the last year it was my fourth most played game, but that was behind two really fast playing ones and another that I played religiously as I had two campaigns (Risk: Legacy).

A couple years ago, I played Monopoly legitimately for the first time. And I cleaned house once I figured everything out.

Arkham Horror is my favorite but I also like classic games like Clue and Trivial Pursuit.

I just bought Civilization The Board game off Amazon and can't wait to play it. The creators modeled it after the CPU game and it looks intense.

Fantasy Flight Games is amazing when it comes to board games. They made the two I mentioned. If you like board games check this company out.

I played Pandemic for the first time a couple of months ago, and immediately fell in love with it. It's great to have five or six people together playing against the board, rather than playing against each other.

I also once dreamed of playing Jumanji as if those things could really happen. Needless to say, it's only fun to play in a dream.
