The girlfriend and I are discussing purchasing a new car. Right now this is where we're at, I want this car (actual car):



It's a 09 with around 30k miles.


She wants a 2012 Nissan Rogue (not the actual car. color is undetermined at this time):



A new Rogue cost a few thousand less than the FX35. However, since the Infiniti is used and three years old, then I could probably get them to come down on the price. Thoughts?

Duh you put the mileage under the picture. 30k miles is pretty low for a 3 year old car. Used cars make me nervous but imo. if you can get it for the price of a Rogue, that's a pretty good deal. The Infiniti is superior in every sense of the word, one reason why it sells for like $20+K than the Rogue brand new.

Imo, you can't go wrong with either and as much as I loved my Nissan's I would never go back to them after owning the Infiniti's

FYI, I have a black 2011 Inifniti EX, that color is a royal PIA to keep clean. They show every speck of dirt and every fingerprint.

Hopefully buying a 1983 Chevy Blazer for 5 grand, it has a 383 stroker motor in it and about a 2 thousand dollar sound system in it, (he's selling it because he lives in Washington and is moving to Cali, and he needs the money) So im gonna take the motor and sound system and put it in my first car, a 1969 Chevelle Mailbu. So excited, has over 500 horse, upward near 600, and sounds beautiful!

I own a 2011 Rogue and I'm pretty satisfied with it. I'm 6'5" and about 200 and I fit in there just fine on the driver's side (because of all the seat controls). It get's great gas mileage as well. If you can get them to come down on the price of the Infiniti, I'd easily go with that though. The Rogue fit my budget a bit better.

Definitely FX over Rogue. You could take a look at the Murano though.

Thanks guys. We're still really early in the process. Basically, we just rode around last Sunday and looked at a few, but haven't went on any test drives or anything. Right now neither of us have a car payment. I have a 05 Jeep Grand Cherokee and she has a 04 Hyundai Santa Fe. There's a part of me that would rather just keep it that way because we would have more money for vacations and stuff around the house, rather than a car payment every month. However, I've got the car feva and I don't know how much longer I can hang on.

You don't get the Infiniti's out there do you? I am loving the new JX model. That may replace my EX when the time comes.

Nope no infinity's here yet but I have heard they are on their way maybe later this year.

I have heard the new Range rover Evoque is a truly awesome car and might be in my price range so that might be an option for me as well.

Pretty nice interior, not my type of car, but still pretty nice interior.

I really dislike the Range Rovers. Overhyped/overpriced imo.

Yeah my jeep gets under 20. Sucks for winter time when I keep it in 4x4 all the time and that you have to warm it up too.

I really dislike the Range Rovers. Overhyped/overpriced imo.

I've never even driven one to be honest and they are pretty rare over here. I was just going off car reviews which were all very positive (one said it should be car of the year). Actually they were more expensive than I had though (about 73k here). You guys have it so good in relation to car prices.

I never buy brand new cars I buy next to new ex demonstrators etc. You can easily save 20-30% as opposed to a new car and they are usually still well under warranty and even still have that new car smell. My last car was 2009 Ford G6E Turbo like I have posted in this thread and brand new they are 54k here. I paid 38k and mine had only 20000km (thas 12400 miles for you guys) on the clock and still had 3 years warranty left. Def something to consider guys....
