Remember Pearl Harbor? Seriously? That's plain stupid. Should I not drink tea because I should remember the Stamp Act? Should I not eat Taco's because of the Alamo?

If an American Company made a quality car that could match European/Japanese/Korean cars, I'd consider them. They simply don't match up. There is not a single American car that is remotely appealing or one that I would trade one of my Infiniti's for.

Buying American in this instance means little to me. I already did when my tax dollars paid for their bailout. I do so love subsidizing corporate greed and mismanagement.

I am not sure what a "God Bless America" Sticker on a Honda has to do with anything, given the fact that Honda, BMW, Mercedes and Toyota among others have created more jobs than the domestic car companies in this country over about the last decade. While Chrysler, GM were pissing away jobs and factories, the Japanese and European companies were investing in assembly plants here. 66% of "Foreign Import" cars are actually built in the U.S.

I am all for patriotism, but I am not going to applaud corporate greed, colossal mismanagement, and offshoring of jobs simply because their corporate HQ sits within the continental U.S.

With Ford, GM and Chrsyler starting to assemble more and more cars in Canada and Mexico, you can make an argument that many of the foreign cars are actually more "domestic" than many of the domestic brands.
Hey man. My comments about Pearl Harbor were tongue in cheek. No need to call me stupid! It's just cars.

I've always been partial to American cars. A lot of American cars have improved greatly over the past 8 years or so. There are a number of cars that are considered world class - the 300C, the Corvette ZR1, the CTS, etc.

I'm not going to defend EVERY American car. But for what I'm looking for I think the Charger SRT8 is a great car at a reasonable price. Cars that perform similarly go for $20k to $40k more.

I know where the Charger is built. If I want an American car, what would you recommend I buy if not a Dodge? We could get into debates about what makes an American car but I'm going to keep it relatively simple and buy the one with the American nameplate. Infiniti, Lexus, etc are just names made up by Japanese car manufacturers to make their cars sound more American IMO.

    Happy Driving!

I've heard this "patience is a virtue" junk all my life. I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!

By your definition you just want to give poorly run American corporations your money. Also as I said by your definition I already bought American when we bailed them out. Your logic makes zero sense.

No one considers the CTS or 300C world class.

For my money no one gives you more bang for the buck than Nissan/Infiniti. Although Hyundai has really stepped up their game recently as well.

Enjoy the new ride. As I said that, color I really like.

Thanks, I'm not getting it because the way its made or anything. I just been a fan of the car for some time. And I know a lot of people with the car and it's a very reliable car.

And after the past couples months and the things I had to go through with Lexus, I will never think of going there again. Just so unprofessional.

I was also considering a Genesis Coupe.

My brother just bought one. Great bang for the buck and the warranty is off the charts. 10 year /100,000 mile bumper to bumper. Fun little car to drive.

No i want to buy a 4 door perfromance oriented v8 sedan. What are my choices for 45k? Japanese car makers dont even offer v8s.

The cts has been on c&d's 10 best list the last few years and the cts-v outperforms the m5. The car is world class.

If you prefer japanese cars thats fine but you dont have to be insulting.

There are times when I wish I had bought a truck, when I financed my car.

I hate having to borrow a truck from my dad, anytime I need to move something or haul something. I do enjoy my car a lot, though.. I love when guys in GT Mustangs pull beside me at the light and try to be Mr. Billy Badass. I've waxed a few of them with my Cobalt, lol..

Infiniti makes an 8. I believe Lexus does as well. Although I am not sure what the big deal is. Most Euro and Japanese companies make 6's that outperform the v8's and are far more efficient.
