    Re: The Nostalgia Thread

I miss the days before Smartphones.

That could go in so many different directions, so I'll just stick to this one: I miss the days of being a kid and having your friend come over so you could interact with mediums that were not related to communication over an electronic device. Even if they came over to play a video game or watch a sport with you, that still trumps the alternative of being on separate phones.

Or heck... just going outside and playing a game called "Lost Kids" where you pretend you're out in the middle of the wilderness and you build forts out of taken down fence pieces, and you use a colander to sift dirt in with water to make "meals," and you host club meetings in your forts, and you have brand new names/identities for yourselves, and you sometimes actually operate your sleepover out there like it's a camping adventure...

I honestly realize this isn't really what the thread is about, but I think I just miss being a kid!

Absolutely agree with this, been thinking about it more and more recently for some reason. Hate how technology has taken over the world. I miss all the things of my youth that I enjoyed so much.

I too miss going out side and actually playing...I think my generation is the last that actually experienced that (born in 86).

Far as going outside and playing, I think that depends on where you live. Like Vermont for example, is a VERY country state, anti technology and video games really aren't a big thing here. So out here at least you still see kids outside playing doing kid things. But then again in Vermont you still have a lot of areas that high speed internet is not available and cell phones simply don't work at.

So here at least kids are still being kids.
