I also often count steps when going up or down stairs. Sometimes when walking somewhere I'll even randomly start counting to myself how many steps I take then I'll catch myself and ask myself why I am counting my steps.Steelers : IX, X, XIII, XIV, XL, XLIII

Whenever there is text on the TV (like on commercials) I count how many letters there are. Or when I see a sign on the road I count how many letters are on it.
All dollar bills must be facing the same way and in order starting with $1 bills.
Everything on a table, especially square things, must be straight.
I wash dishes right before I use them even though they have already been washed.
All volumes and alarms must be on a number that ends in 5.

Re: Quirky things you do...
I also have a strange habit of adding numbers I see for no apparent reason. If I look at the clock and it says 10:23, I'll often look at it and think: 10 + 23 = 33, 1 + 0 + 2 + 3 = 6 etc... Or while driving down the road and I see a sequence of numbers, I'll add them together (ie: 65 mph speed limit sign near a 45 miles to Pittsburgh sign and I'll think 110). Or if someone is talking to me and says is today the 26th or 27th? I'll think 53 in my head as I tell them what day it is. I don't do this all the time though...more frequently than one might think. Very strange...I know.
Yeah, I do the same thing at times. If I'm not focused on anything in particular, like you Mjb, I'll see numbers on signs or whatever, and I start adding/subtracting.1969 NFL ChampionsComment

If I get a song in my head, I don't tap my feet or whatever to the beat...
I click my teeth side to side instead. Been doing this for so long, my teeth are slightly crooked now. Matter of fact, my dentist asked me if I grind my teeth.....lol. I just told him "Yeah, possibly".
It's an embarrassing habit...Comment

Re: Quirky things you do...
Whenever I'm driving long distances I like to do calculations with how far I've gone, how far I need to go, and what kind of pace I'm on in accordance with what my ETA should be. So if I'm 380 miles from San Francisco and driving 75 MPH and then I see a sign twenty minutes later that says I'm 354 miles away and now driving 80 MPH, I'll consider whether I'm making good time under some intense in-my-head math (which kills a considerable amount of time lol).Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

Re: Quirky things you do...
When I'm eating a lebanon bologna sandwich (and only that kind), I do the following:
-get 3 slices of bread
-get 3 slices of lebanon bologna, cut one in half
-put 1.5 slices of lebanon bologna on two of the pieces of bread, top off with third
-press the sandwich with my hands so it's flat as possible
-eat the crust first
-eat the rest of the sandwich
Also, when eating ice cream, I HAVE to "stir" it until it melts a little bit and is more like a milk shake than ice cream before I eat it.Comment

Re: Quirky things you do...
I usually can't sleep with ANY clothes on (except underwear). Unless I'm exhausted (or wasted) and pass out, I can't stand the feeling of having clothes on while I sleep.
-At work we have those cash registers that automatically dispense the coin change into a little bucket. When I work the register, I always lightly pound the bucket after grabbing the change. It started because sometimes the change gets stuck, but now I do it every time.
-I think everyone has a routine in the shower, so this isn't too weird, but I always shampoo my hair, wash everything from top to bottom except my face, arm pits and balls, then wash my armpits, then my balls, then rinse my hair, then use my facewash on my face.
-I have to sleep with a TV show on. I used to always turn my TV on with a sleep timer and go to sleep. If the TV shut off, I got up and turned it back on and set a new timer. Now, I use my computer and watch Netflix (usually Arrested Development). If an episode ends, I have to start a new one, even if I was half asleep.Originally posted by DaImmaculateONeHow many brothers does Sub-zero running around in his clothing? Also I have issues with my birthday. I love love love my birthday I call it the "Greatest Day Ever" make sure anyone around me knows this. I'm alittle out of control ,but its my birthday I'll be 34 in a day plus that whole day I was born was cool. I was born 5-7-1977 @7:27pm in room 227. Plus I was the first born when my mom was told all her life she couldn't have kids, plus I was born the day before Mother's Day.Comment

Re: Quirky things you do...
I try to relate everything to math. I am constantly counting everything, trying to find out ratios, etc. I also make up random math problems in my head that sometimes take me a few days to solve because I make them ridiculous.
Everything I have control of needs to be an even number or a multiple of 5.
I do the commentary for my sports games, and in Choops 2k8 I actually talk to my players in Career Legacy.
At stores I always act as the stock boy and put everything back on their correct shelves. And I arrange everything in the house until it is lined up perfectly. I constantly clean my room and remake my bed until the covers are perfect. A little OCD I guess.“No one is more hated than he who speaks the truth.”

Re: Quirky things you do...
my friends pointed something out to me that they think is weird.
At night, I sleep with my phone on my bed, even though there is AMPLE room on my nightstand. Even If i'm not texting myself to sleep. That way if I do get a text/notification, I can hear it vibrate (I like firm beds).
anybody else do this? And may thy spirit live in us, Forever LSU

Re: Quirky things you do...
When I finish studying for something I dunk my hand in really cold ice water. It's something my mama told me to do when I was young and I still do it to this day. It's probably just coincidental, but whenever I don't dunk my hand I make a worse grade on whatever I'm studying for.
Go figure...
I do a ton of quirky stuff, to be honest.
