Always has been and always will.

I would even say that the military will only release details of what they want

Maybe even some misinformation to throw some unknown people off

Remember there are known knowns, known unknowns and unknown unknowns

Yeah but who knows what really happened on Sunday. Only the SEALS do. I think the mission was capture him dead or alive, they tried to capture him alive, he resisted, and they killed him. It was a split-second decision and the SEALS are heavily trained for situations like these so I trust they made the right decision.

I don't think we will ever know step-by-step what happened and we shouldn't in my opinion.

You think these terrorists care about our rules? You think they care about our justice? They are cold-blooded, bred-to-kill machines. They harbor no emotion, no remorse. They don't care if they kill their families, if they kill themselves. Nothing. They are stone-faced diabolical robots.

Excuse me if I don't give a **** to show them how our justice system works. The very system that they resent so much. You think they give a **** if we show them we're "above" them? Do you REALLY think this? Drop the utopian fantasy. In times like this, the only justice we need is bullets to the brain.

Yeah the military is not going to release every detail of what happened and they shouldn't. It would be stupid to give every detail, giving the enemy our tactics as there will be many more raids on enemy compounds.

Agreed, we wont know the stuff that went on there but the news will try to spin new things or concepts they think happened, which is annoying but oh well.

SEALs thrive in situations like that, high stress but still able to think and react coherently with whats given to them second by second. Pretty unfair for anyone never in that situation to question why they reacted this way when they're not physically in that environment.

That doesn't provide any reason why we shouldn't care if we kill theirs. If we want to come out ahead we need to prove that we are better than them by actually being concerned with what we're doing. And no I don't think they care but a decent amount of people who aren't terrorists do.

Utopian fantasy? That implies that actually having morals in war is impossible which it definitely isn't especially since in most cases we're okay in that department. And yes I do actually think this.

EDIT: As for the people who think that my critiques aren't legitimate since I wasn't there I was hoping that that would be implied since only news stories are available. I can only react to the situations that are presented to me.

And the President, Vice-President, Joint Chiefs, Security Officials, etc all were watching a live feed.

They would all have to be in on this "murder" if that is what people think. And I highly doubt that is the case.

I mean you can only say that indirectly. That's the same as saying that the parents of a serial killer are in on the murders that he commits because they raised him. As far as accountability you could only hold the people who made the decision accountable.

No, I would trust within our ranks that they would court marshal these guys if they were in fact killing in cold blood. Not to mention you know the highest in command is watching your mission.

But these guys don't and wont. They are the most elite in the world, most disciplined and highly trained. They carry out their orders to the strictest and most efficient fashion.

They are not, extremists or terrorists. They are problem solvers.

I hope they would as well.

I make judgments based on what has happened. If the situation played out with bin Ladin reaching for a gun I wholeheartedly agree with this. If not then that opens up a new can of worms.

It did because that is what cowards do. And the man was a coward. I did not see him strapping bombs to himself... or his wife, or his family or children. He is a typical coward, and took death by SEAL suicide.

Just like certain ones you see every now and then going suicide by cop on the streets of America. Could not pull the trigger themselves, so they shoot a cop, or attempt to, to get themselves riddled with bullets.

These guys are too highly trained to act as vigilantes... but their safety comes first, even if he looked at a gun, and made the slightest twitch in that direction... boom... safety of the squad comes first and foremost.

                            Re: Bin Laden is dead!

They were not watching a live feed. They were getting live updates on the situation room screen but there was no camera there and they were doing pay per view.

                            That was already stated.

Watching NBC News with Brian Williams he had a dude that stated that

The Seals were not in any fire fight. They were only shot at barely by the courier and brother at the start and were quickly taken out.

As they went inside they saw OBL's son on the stairs and shot him and killed him.

They saw OBL peaking out to see what was happening on the top of the stairs and the Seals shot but missed him.

Seals went upstairs and 2 little girls came running out from OBL room and one Seal grabbed both and took them downstairs.

Then 2 Seals stormed into OBL bedroom and saw OBL and his wife, she stormed at one of the Seals who shot her in the leg. Then the other Seal shot OBL 2 times, first in the chest and then in the head killing him dead on. The old dude even said that about 30 minutes of those 40 minutes they were inside was spent collecting intel. OBL was dead from the get and not as reported earlier that he was killed in the last 2 minutes, which leads to the belief that the little girl was right when she said that she was taken downstairs and OBL was brought downstairs and shot infront of the family and taken to the copter by dragging OBL through the ground.

That was her report to Pakistan but who knows if it is true

It is the one called Details of the raid, they even show a cartoon to show how it went down. Interesting stuff
