Re: Your first post EVER on OS

I think I'm the only one who's first post was in the wrestling forum (I love it!).

    August, 2004:

oh hell yeah. My boy Orton just took Triple H back to his roots w/ that sledge hammer. But if hes gone for the night, I'm gonna be pissed. This is the orton ERA, they gotta give him more than 5 min per show.
Talking about the beginning of Orton's 1st championship (crappy face) run in a Raw thread that had only FOURTEEN posts, lol. My how times have changed. At the same time, they come full circle. Orton is still the champ and my last post before this was in a wrestling thread.

carter, it's under XBOX, just go to previews and there under movies. They didn't bother to post it on the main page I guess.
7-19-2002 in thread "New Madden movies at IGN".

Damn, that feels like a lifetime ago.

College Hoops 2k - How many have gotten a job at their favorite school?

By 2011 i went from my begining school of Western Illinois straight to Arizona. That should set me up perfectly for when the Indiana job opens up.

                September 27, 2004

There are a lot of positives that I see in these videos. With a little slider tweaking, I think the gameplay will be great.

It is a little annoying that there is no dribble sound when doing Isomotion moves. I can't believe that got past the testers. Definitely not a game-killer, but just sort of strange.

                The excitement for Wednesday builds...
My posts sound exactly the same then as they do now. +1 for consistency!

                    NFL 2K5 impressions thread:
"Bought the game at Target for $15.88 the other day and I almost feel guilty not having paid the usual $50. Great move by SEGA to get people to take another look at their game. I've owned every Madden from the beginning, but when I saw the price, I had to give 2K a shot. I'm glad a did. Here are my impressions after playing the game nonstop for 4 days.

                    Pros
-Presentation. In my opinion blows Madden out of the water. The replays are realistic, just like you'd see if you were watching on TV. The ESPN package is nice, too. The cut-scenes of the crowd are great, too.
-Graphics. Cleaner and brighter than Madden. I'm playing with the Broncos, and the detail in the uniforms and stadiums is great. The lighting is good, too. Player models look good, but I do agree they appear a bit stretched out, but that's not a big deal.
-Gameplay. Maybe this is because I'm so used to Madden, but in 2K, I feel like I really have to pay attention to the plays I call. On offense, you need to be able to read the defense, and on defense, you have to be able to react to the offense (motion, audibles). In Madden you can call the same 3 plays each year and be successful. In 2K,you have to change up your playcalling, or you'll get burned. The controls are responsive, but I'm still used to Madden's feel, so it will take me a little while to adjust, as well as adjusting to the button configurations (pretty much the same, except a few changes).
-Kicking Game. The meter is tough, but fair and you have to pay attention to every kick, or you might miss a FG, or send a punt out of bounds after 10 yards.

                    Cons
-Franchise Mode. This isn't a big problem, but the weekly prep feature is tough to figure out. It seems the players always regress, so I've turned the feature off for now.
-Gameplay. Yes, it's in the positive, but there are things that could be better. Running up the gut is tough, and passing can be tough when receivers drop the ball. Again, this is probably because I"m new to 2K. I'm sure there are sliders that address these issues. There are also a lot of INT's, fumbles and injuries. I haven't noticed an extreme amount, but they do happen often enough for me to notice.
-Draft. Not having a college game hurts 2K, as you can't draft your college guys into the pro game like you can with NCAA and Madden. It's a great feature to have, and to not have it in this game, takes away from the franchise experience a little bit, as you don't get real college players. Of course, after 4 years of NCAA the names are all made up anyway, so again, not a huge, decision-making factor.

Not having played Madden '05, it's hard to say which is better, but I do know that ESPN NFL 2K5 is a great game, and worthy of a purchase by the most loyal Madden-fan. You'd be foolish not to at least try this game. Now that I have, and experienced it's great gameplay and presentation, it might be harder than I thought to go back to Madden."
