Re: Most annoying words, terms, phrases
Which I still never understand, probably for the best.
I remember overhearing some people at my work talking before about some post someone made (wasn't controversial), and they were like "did you see how many people liked it compared to the amount who viewed it? That's a low number"
And I'm just standing there laughing/in disbelief. People obsessing about the number of likes, replies and views something gets just seems weird.
I get caring about analytics if you're an "influencer"/actual social media person for a company, but that's it.
I know people out there value themselves based on how many views/likes their posts and pics get(some have done the same to me and my lack of social media presence), which is sad if you ask me.Last edited by Majingir; 07-31-2021, 11:36 AM.Comment

Re: Most annoying words, terms, phrases
Otherwise, I couldn't care less. Sure, I like/react with something by acknowledging that I enjoyed the content, but the reciprocity is not of importance to me unless that is their way of responding without actually responding, if that makes sense (that's also true on OS, because sometimes you don't need to write a post that says "I agree").
However, to see those YouTube comments where somebody literally edits their post to say: "OMGEE THANKS SO MUCH 4 DA LIKES!!!" I just... no.
Y'all have to see the movie Eighth Grade, by the way. The main character really does put things into the perspective of what a young teen is going through during this generation of social media popularity contests and overall sense of belonging.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment

bougie for bourgeois
also, cornhole. got to have a better name. heck, even Ho' Toss would have been better. like the actual game, just the name makes me cringe. all I can think when I hear cornhole is how people used to use corncob before tp became plentiful.
I suppose I should be thankful they dont play with teabags instead. but I guess I will also always be a horseshoe guyOSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

Re: Most annoying words, terms, phrases
It's "literally" for me. I'm sure somebody has covered this.
But when such a large portion of the world decides to take a word and use it almost as an antonym to its definition I just feel like we're reaching boiling-point stupid.
