Re: Most annoying words, terms, phrases
per se
the sound of the words don't bother me per se,
it's more that too many people don't use it correctly per se
I know a guy who can't go a day w/o using the phrase 5 times a day,
which maybe isn't the worst thing a person can do per se.
but it is just TOO muchOSFM23 - Building Better Baseball - OSFM23

However...the fan one with a players name, the name of that is player tee. Shirsey doesn't make as much sense to me.Comment

Something I like: people saying "yeah, no" or "no, yeah" before something. I love how it sounds perfectly fine, but is meaningless. But yeah, no, yeah, I like it.Comment

"He is him."
Used to declare someone as being "the man", so to speak.
I appreciated the uniqueness of the phrase the first time or two I heard it from the fringes. But now it's slipped into that zone of announcers and writers/posters going out of their way to shoehorn it into everything as a means of appearing to be up on all the newest slang.Comment

Always trying to sound cool/hip and I’m like “Sir, I don’t need all that. Just call the game like a normal announcer”#RespectTheCultureComment

Re: Most annoying words, terms, phrases
Random thing I find funny from hearing it multiple times.
The older generation, let's say 50+, has to mention things like how kids today don't know about VHS tapes. But at the same time those same people seem to have forgotten what a VCR is. I've heard the term "VHS Player" so often when referring to a VCR. Sure, a VCR is a player that plays VHS tapes, but it's not called a VHS player...
Obviously we have/had cassette players, cd player, DVD player, Blu-ray player and so on, but VHS player was never an actual term at the time?Comment

Re: Most annoying words, terms, phrases
Team work makes the dream work.
A guy I work with (who is always looking for help with his own work) says this just about every other ******* day.
My response has now become to always reply ''I don't dream about work.''T-BONE.

Ugh, yes. That was the slogan for the entire management conference one year when I worked for O'Reilly Auto. Everywhere we went, that was being stated or was printed. Hated it then, still do now.Comment

Re: Most annoying words, terms, phrases
Some of my guy students are intentionally making gulping sounds at times. Like when an "Uh oh" moment happens (like "We have a quiz at the end of the week").
It's almost like it's some sort of Tik Tok trend... and I'm sure it is.Samsung PN60F8500 PDP / Anthem MRX 720 / Klipsch RC-62 II / Klipsch RF-82 II (x2) / Insignia NS-B2111 (x2) / SVS PC13-Ultra / SVS SB-2000 / Sony MDR-7506 Professional / Audio-Technica ATH-R70x / Sony PS3 & PS4 / DirecTV HR44-500 / DarbeeVision DVP-5000 / Panamax M5400-PM / Elgato HD60Comment
