I got down fertilizer/crabgrass preventer Friday since it's warmed up so quick and gotten my needed rain. I'm pretty sure I saw what looked like mature crabgrass. I'm just hoping it's stuff that didn't turn brown and die off from last year... it is way too early to have mature crabgrass already. I'm hoping I control the evil bastards this year and have a chance to overseed later this year and fill in the patches that got taken over last year or just plain didn't grow. The builder f'd up the sod job good and of course, they can just claim that it's not a warranty item.

The novice is back with another DIY question.
I noticed a hole in my laundry room ceiling tonight. After some testing, I discovered there's a leak when I flush the toilet upstairs (that bathroom is right above the laundry room). No leak if I run water in the sink or bathtub up there. So it has to be the wax seal on the toilet, right? There's no water on the bathroom on the floor.
Assuming that's the case, and before I hit YouTubeU, how hard is that to fix?Twitter - WTF_OS

We finally got our long coveted garden box up this weekend. I think we'll be adding a second one in about 4-6 weeks. We're excited, though. Tomatoes, beans, peppers, cucumbers, and carrots. We've been wanting a garden for 3 years so its nice to finally be able to do one.
Now we just need to see how much a floating deck is going to set us back.

Word of advice, NEVER buy and install self adhesive vinyl plank flooring if you are planning on it being a temporary solution. Our hardwood is going in on Wednesday, and I'm ripping this junk out. .. it is absolutely brutal taking up.
/end rant
Can't wait for the flooring to be in. We just bought new cabinets, our granite will be installed in 2 weeks. Our entire house is in disarray right now. Can't wait for it to all be finished.Twitter - WTF_OS

I see that your from Lexington...I am as well...Was wondering who your using to install your wood flooring? We are thinking about installing wood throughout our home, but the only issue right now is trying to find a 'reputable/trustworthy' company to do it...You can PM me if you like.Comment

I'll get the guys name and number. He was a Lowes contractor, but excellent. Dude does top notch work. I just don't have his information in front of me.
For the bad news, I went to move our refrigerator back into place, and put a long, deep groove in my new flooring. Can't win for losing.Twitter - WTF_OS

Re: For all of you guys who are homeowners or newly owned
Just over a week away from closing on a home in Mesa, Arizona. Relocating for work. It's a nice 2-bed, 2-bath with a pool. Just under 1,100 square feet.
Underwriter just signed off on the loan. Seller is requesting that he be allowed to stay in the property one extra day after closing, as he's closing on his new home around the same time. I'm a reasonable guy, but given the fact he's moving in town and we are coming from 2 states away, I denied that request. Right move?
Looking forward to owning a home again after renting for a few years. I'll share some pics after we've moved in.Currently Playing:

Definitely right move, it's your home. Congrats on the move, I love metro Phoenix.
I prefer Gilbert or Chandler but there's nice parts Mesa and those towns are next to Mesa. It does get kinda questionable in some parts though but I'm sure you'll figure it out.
If you go out to watch a Dbacks or Suns game, ask where Carolina's is at. The best tortillas in town.
