    Re: Off Topic 2012

The fourth-best part of Thanksgiving is the second Thanksgiving that happens when one realizes that there are about 80 lbs of leftovers.

For those keeping score at home, I consider first, second, and third to be family, the initial Thanksgiving dinner food, and football.

        Re: Off Topic 2012

By request on twitter here's a quick story about walmart tonight.

Everything was going fine. It was packed, but everything was going smooth. My wife wanted this stick vacuum thing they had on sale so we went and waited to get it at 8. There was this lady in front of us who was waiting as well. There was no real line for this thing. It was just people standing around.

Anyway, 8 came and my wife wife made her way over to them like everyone else and the lady in front of us grabbed one and my wife grabbed one, the lady ripped it out of my wife's hands. Then the lady grabbed another one. My wife turned to her and said what the **** are you doing? She tells her she has a bunch of people she needs to get them for. My wife says I don't give a ****, you don't take **** out of my hands and expect not to get your *** beat.

Now at this point the lady had gotten 4 of these things by taking one from my wife and boxing her out to get the rest. I'm trying to diffuse the situation as this is going on. Finally my wife grabbed one and the lady called my wife a bitch when she walked back by. She got in her face and said I know I'm a bitch, but do you know that you are? After that the lady just walked away.

Pretty much everyone was just starring. I was a tad embarrassed lol. I guess I can't blame my wife. She really didn't do anything wrong I don't think.

Damn, GMSS.. what does her bloodline actually eat ?

I swear they survive off of cigarettes and coffee. Every dinner I ever ate their houses, don't matter the time of year, mashed potatoes and a few different kinds of squash is the side dishes. Spaghetti ? Oh yeah we going to have it with mashed potatoes and 2 types of squash. BBQ ? yeah we going to have it with mashed potatoes and squash.

It's not even freaking real potatoes, it is that instant powder BS. I be like really? Mashed potatoes and squash with every damn thing ??? They eat way more vegetables then actual meat.

          Tacos ? Never
          Mac n cheese ? Never
          Hot links ? Never
          Pasta salad ? Never
Meatloaf ? Once, with no damn sauce on it.....I was like that isn't meatloaf if doesn't have sauce on it. Then it had no onions or bell pepper in it.
          Ribs ? Never
          Coleslaw ? Never

I looked at my wife and said now I know why your whole bloodline is skinny as a twig. You guys don't eat enough meat. And they kill me with that bread & butter BS. Do you want some bread n butter ? No, I'm a meat eater, not going to get full off some bread n butter, what am I ? in prison ?

I just say what ever and pass it off as cultural differences. But the shocker that always get me is my sister in law husband is greedy as hell. Take a plate, home he be portion controlling everybody's plate. I be thinking to myself dude nobody really wants your nasty unseasoned food, we just taking it to be polite. He literally today kept half the turkey to himself, saying I want turkey sandwiches all next week, trying to give everybody a pile of dark meat. Nobody wants dark meat dude.

He does that at every dinner. Don't matter what it is, he will yell out to his wife, "honey you just gave them 2 spoon fulls, save some for me." But let him come over to somebody else's house, he be trying to take the whole damn kitchen home with him.

            Re: Off Topic 2012

Man, I have two second cousins who are brother and sister. Their mother is nice person and she helps my grandmother a lot (she lives across the road from her). Those two showed up well after everyone had ate and took like six plates of left overs with them.

The girl even brought her new boyfriend with her (She's 22 and he looks like he's 40) and the guy didn't even speak to anyone, but he didn't have a problem walking right in and taking a bunch of food from people he doesn't know, without saying thanks to anyone or even speaking.

It pissed me off quite a bit, but I bit my tongue. It's not that they came to eat, it's the fact that they show up for 15 minutes to take a bunch of food and leave, without a hey hows it going or **** you and goodbye.

I used to like them, when we were kids. The girl has a twin sister who lives in Arkansas and has her head on her shoulder. The brother and the twin that showed up have both had drug issues in the past and he's even spent some time in prison. He escaped prison and finally went back and got out on release and two days later the stupid ****er gets caught shop lifting from Wal Mart.

Needless to say, I don't trust them and I don't like them and I wish my grandmother wasn't as nice as she is and would tell them to **** off. I know she just doesn't want to see anyone go without Thanksgiving dinner.

I even got up off the front porch and walked to my car and got my wallet out of the center console. That's how much I don't trust them..

The rest of my family are all good people and I hate that their mother has to put up with their bull ****. I know she loves them, but anyone else would have given up on them a long *** time ago.

It's not even about second chances, they're on their fourth or fifth chance now. Hell, the girl even has two kids who would have been put up for adoption to someone random, but my aunt and uncle and my cousin filed for adoption and took over custody of them, so they could stay within our family. It's a sad ****ing story, that's for sure.. My cousin is a local Chief of Police, so needless to say he doesn't even like her being around the boy that they adopted.

It could be a somewhat cultural thing.

My step dad's sister in law (his brother's wife) is originally from Vermont. They lived there for years and years and I've even been up there to visit once. She's ****ing weird, man. We went to their house to eat supper one night and she cooks the EXACT amount for everyone to get one serving of each part of the meal. It's like she was trying to make everyone feel guilty for taking more than a spoonful of potatoes.

She's nice, but she has this proper tone going on. She won't even come in our house, unless we put our dog in a room. If it's anywhere in the vicinity, she things it's about to attack her. I've never seen someone flip out so bad if a dog walks up and tries to smell them. I'm thinking, "You know, that's how dogs identify who the hell you are, right?".

Hey man everybody got some relatives that are like that. Me personally, I cut their asses off a long time ago. But that is so wrong, you show up for 15 minutes just to take some food home. I would have set the gun out on the table and been like hold up, slow your roll, I don't know you, you didn't even speak, GTFO, you not blood.

Honestly my dad has done that quite a few times at BBQs. He doesn't let anything slide. If he don't know you and you didn't even speak, you better not even reach for food.

My wife's cousin who I call the king of Vermont because he own so much property in this state is like that. He is afraid of dogs and won't enter unless the dog is locked up. I don't know if he was bitten by one when he was little or what, but dogs freak him out.

                    So last year I watched 235 football games total...today I passed 250.

In a sick, twisted way, I'm proud of that. If you take all the #barves and LSU stickball games I watched this past season and added them up, you still wouldn't have 250. And I saw every LSU game. And I did it without really sacrificing my social life. Imagine what it would be if I just sat here every single Thursday through Monday.

And I'm doing that without ESPN U, B1G Network, NFL Redzone, or the NFL Network.

Had an okay Thanksgiving. I had to eat with about 30 people I didn't know, but other than that it was pretty good.
