I'm sad. Playing toys with my dog, I threw the tiny ball (he's a 10 lb dog so he has tiny toys) across the room and nailed my beer, knocking it over

OMFG, it's 100 times worse than I thought. My dish receiver is fried. It just sparked up and **** the bed. WORST DAY EVER!

Why was your beer on the other side of the room?

I didn't know dish receivers could have bowel movements.

That's pretty bad considering the day is only 1 hour and 25 minutes old.

My receiver was pulled out and placed in the center of the room so the cables could reach my other tv. I was experimenting with using my SD signal on my HD tv because the sports broadcasts were still in 16:9. It was positioned in a place that it was convenient to set my beer on because it was within reach from the computer, the couch, and the window if I was grabbing a smoke. I throw the ball back and forth across the room for the little guy and by incredibly bad luck a cross room toss hit the beer can directly as it was full, spilling it into the dish receiver and frying it literally. Had to scramble to unplug it while it was sparking up.

The worst part is I don't have the Dish account number so I need to contact my landlady. Since I have the recently documented telephobia I need my fried to call for me. The last time the landlady responded to my friends call she was 3 weeks late on a shelter verification form that she needed to fill out. This is gonna suck!

Yikes. Though convenient or not, putting an open and full beer can on top of the receiver (or any piece of electroncis really) probably wasn't the best idea in the world.

Just found out via Facebook that my great grandfather passed away last night after a long battle with Alzheimer's/dementia...he was 80. While he wasn't a blood relative (married to my great grandmother but was not my grandmother's father), he treated us and loved us all the same and we always viewed him and thought of him as blood. I was fortunate enough to see him on Sunday for the last time and he appeared to be in good spirits despite everything. Up until the last few months or so he was sharp mentally, and if you stuck a deck of cards in front of him he'd still play Cinch better than most. It's horrible to see him go, but he's in a better place now and I'm sure he's already got a cast in the water with a beer in his free hand. RIP Pop.

Finished up Six Feet Under last night and all I can say is wow - Great show. It's a lot different than anything I've ever watched. I don't know if I'd put it above The Wire & The Sopranos, but it's certainly up there. The series finale was awesome; probably the best that I've seen in any series. I'm actually pretty sad that it's over.

I'm not sure which series I want to pick up next.
