Now that we're back, I'm going to come right out and say it.

I think it might be best if I discontinue posting the OS OT top 25 at least for the time being. I had been getting the impression that some people were taking it a little more seriously than it was meant to be taken and that this may have at least partially contributed to the recent chain of events.

I don't think that had anything to do with it at all.

The snow is coming............I can see it in New York over the mountains. And yes, I really can see New York from where I live, along with Mass.

I hate New York! I’m sorry, but it’s true! Today, I was walking around PriceCo. Have you ever been there? It’s huge! All the stores in New York are so cramped! Every time I turn around I knock something over. I’m like some huge monster that came out of the oceans to destroy bodegas!

I’m too big for New York, okay! I’m always trying to fit into cramped little subway seats, or duck under doorways that were built a hundred and fifty years ago. Hey, guess what, people are bigger now! Build bigger doorways! What the hell is wrong with you?

And it’s so loud. All the time. Yes, I know it’s the city that never sleeps, but guess what? I like to sleep! I’ve been tired for eight years! Tired and scared, with black and blue marks on my elbows from trying to fit into all these tiny elf doorways! New Jersey’s great! It’s got huge stores, and lawns, and you never have to carry a cup again! For the rest of your life! I’m not afraid to say it: I love New Jersey!

Yeah a lot of doorways and places in the northeast was built for short people. To me, NYC is just a smaller version of Chicago. But the city I dislike the most is Boston. Their roads were made for horses, not cars.

Stout's official response to the weather from last night:

The UW-Stout grounds crew began clearing the campus of snow at 5 a.m. today and they report that most areas are accessible. However, students, employees and visitors are advised to watch out for ice under the remaining snow and standing water. Work will continue on the commuter parking lots and then the longer term parking parking lots until completed. It is anticipated that grounds crew will be working for the next couple of days to complete the work.
The sidewalks are now where near plowed and the streets are horrible (a flowing river of freezing water taking up all but the middle 1/3 of the street, with the middle 1/3 of the street being about an inch of solid ice/slush).

Must be something about those small snowbelt schools that they refuse to close even during the worst of winter weather. I went to Allegheny College in Meadville, PA (about 40 miles south of Erie) and we got tons of snow. I used to say that it would start snowing in November and you wouldn't see the snow again until March. Yet classes were never cancelled no matter how hard it was coming down or how much was on the ground.

                          That not's weird at all.

In some parts of MD(mainly PG County)you can see DC AND Virginia just literally looking straight ahead and if you're in VA, you can see DC and Maryland the same way as well. Probably the only place in the country where you can literally walk across the street and be in DC/MD and you'd probably wouldn't even notice it.

I don't even care that they didn't cancel classes, I'm upset that despite "working" since 5am, it looks as if absolutely no work got done. Don't tell us "The sidewalks are clear and areas are accessible" when they are clearly not and it's potentially dangerous trying to walk down said sidewalks due to the amount of ice. They did this to us last year twice where they said they plowed but did a piss poor job of doing it. Only one of those times they actually cancelled classes.

wow I leave for a couple days and....stuff happens.

Ahem anyways the snow has been coming down all day today though it looks like it's let up considerably regardless, there's quite a bit of snow on the ground.

So my cable company is going all digital so i'm getting a digital box in my room now normally i'd want an HD box for the obvious reasons but I have a DVD recorder and i've tried hooking that up to the HD PVR and it doesn't work. So needless to say i'll be operating on an SD signal in order to tape sports and the 2012 conventions/election.
