Summer mornings, not school.


Gah, I can imagine the backlash if we were out there before 6:30 every morning. The faculty would lose it.

Well idk about you, but I fell asleep in half of my classes anyways(If I could afford to/get away with it that is).

I'm proud I slacked throughout HS and still made it to FSU. Of course it helps that I got a 3.9 freshman year which offset my terrible Sophomore year where I failed a class and got a few C's. Stepped it back to A's/B's the next 2 years atleast

I'm thinking a career change is in order, I can't do this for the next 20-30 years....

I'm not even into my Career yet(Elementary teacher) and I feel like I want to change my major. It's not that I don't think I'll like it, cause it's something I want to do. The more I think about it the more i'd love to do something in sports but that's probably unrealistic.

Man.. I'm starting to get tired of mine, after almost three years.

I've got four potential job opportunities coming sometime within the next year and I've got at least some sort of pull with each company.

I'm all over whichever one comes calling first.

I went through this about a year ago. Things got super stressful and lots of people were getting let go. Luckily I stuck it out and things are way better.

All this drill talk is making me miss football, also. If we got in trouble for something, we had to do Big 3s. Run 100 yards, bear crawl 100 yards, then logroll 100 yards. There's nothing better than clipping up the shoulder pads on the first day of summer practice.

What about becoming a PE teacher? At least it's something more sports related and you won't feel like you have wasted any time.

Cool man, hope they come knocking sooner rather than later. I'm usually a pretty happy kind of a guy but it's gotten to a point where I'm dreading each working day and it's really getting me down and affecting other areas of my life.

I went through this about a year ago. Things got super stressful and lots of people were getting let go. Luckily I stuck it out and things are way better.

That's good to hear it improved.

That's part of the problem. I really want to totally drastically change career paths but the economy sucks at the moment and it's hard with a wife, kids, mortgage etc.

It's really true though that you should try to do something that you actually enjoy rather than chase the money. I make great money but there's more to life....

Haha, all you guys loved football, I hated football everyday except Friday. I like the sport, but it was just not really my sport. It was fun to play, and I loved blocking as a WR for some reason, but never wanted to practice. I just hated it.

Now baseball, I loved practicing baseball. I miss the days of our "Sinsei Challenge" where the infielders would get in a line and the coach would be standing 10 feet away and drilled a ground ball to whoever was up. Every time this challenge took place, one of the corner infielders would win except for one lone time. We took pride in that, though the corner infields had an advantage because most hard hit ground balls go to a corner.

Baseball conditioning was also always running from foul pole to foul pole or running the hills behind the stadium. In preseason, that's when conditioning was actually conditioning. We'd do goat trails, but in variations. Run and touch each step once, then twice, hop up each step, every other step, etc. The hopping was brutal on the calves. Then after that we'd do suicides, then squat jumps, and by then, it was near impossible to walk with how weak your legs would be.

But yea, I definitely like baseball 100000000x more than football. If I ever felt "sick" I'd miss football, which was a lot over the summer, but never baseball. I remember waking up one week with a temperature over 100 every day that week, but still going to baseball because I just loved the sport.

Yeah i've thought about it cause both my grandparents were PE teachers, have to transfer to like UCF for that tho because FSU doesn't have that program anymore.

I was talking to a family member who is a Head Coach at a HS down near Miami, once I get a job as a teacher I'm going to try to look into trying to work my way on to a team.

Hopefully you're a real patient guy, I remember back a few years ago when I had to go pick up my daughter from Elementary and seeing some of them brats running about and the things they were spewing towards each other.

Little damn savages some of them are, I don't think I could ever handle a lot of those little brats all at once like that. Obviously, they aren't all like that, but back then, it sure seemed like a lot of them were.

I never thought i'd say this but: We have soccer hooligans in Toronto. I say this because during the TFC/LA Galaxy game fans were throwing streamers at David Beckham when he had to do free kicks and at one point some people threw beer at him!

I'm finally starting to get better at NHL 11. I'm consistently winning the majority of the face offs, getting more shots on goal, and have a higher time of possession.. I just don't have the wins to show for it.

In college I actually began on the track to become a PE teacher. One of my classes involved going to elementary schools in the area and teaching special Ed students. It was actually very rewarding and the kids were great for the most part. What turned me off was one of the teachers we talked to. She said that the schools were in bad shape and the school that she was teaching PE at saw that she had a couple years of French in high school and now she would also be teaching French. The next semester I switched my major to graphic design.
