      What a weekend!

My sister's wedding was a great experience and I was glad to be a part of it. I saw a lot of relatives I haven't seen in quite some time and my sister and her husband Tino were great together. I have to admit I got a little misty eyed watching the wedding ceremony and the reception afterwards.

I usually don't get emotional when making speeches but I nearly cried that night. It was a very moving and joyous experience that night. I can't wait to get a few pictures of myself and maybe i'll add one to the OS picture thread.

The theme of the wedding was "mafia" so the guys all wore gangster style hats LOL! So even though the weather wasn't the greatest (cold and gloomy) it was more than made up by the fact that everyone was exuberant and happy to be there.

Are our days lasting longer to anyone else?

Now I know its the summer time. But I just left for work, waking up at 530 and its light out. Then last night my little nephew asks to go play outside, and I tell him "No we cant. Its nighttime." only basing it on time (being about 8). He says "No its not." The kid was right.

I remember last year, I would leave to train clients in the morning at the same time. It would be dark when I would leave and I would train until about 630am. I would go back to my car and take a quick nap before my next client. I was able to do this because it was dark.

This year its light before I even leave. I always thought that it remained darker longer in the mornings and remain daylight longer at night during the summertime.

I could be a bit paranoid though with watching a guy named David Icke, whos a quantum physicist I believe, on Youtube a little while ago. He was speaking about how the world is going to experience big changes this year with the Earth's rotation slowing down as eventually its rotation is going to reverse direction.

Dont know how much of that is true. But I couldnt help but think about that. It could be just because I'm on the West Coast now. Lol

Good luck, let us know the good news!
He gave a 12% when he switched me to salary, so I feel like 15% is a good amount to use.

          5k bonus? Damn, son haha.

Icke is a bit of a looney tune as he's talked about giants and such craziness though I could be confusing him with another Coast to Coast AM guest.

As to your observation it sure does seem like the days are getting longer. I woke up at about 5:30 this morning and it was pretty darn bright outside! In fact, looking at the sun/moon info for today the sun rose at 5:38 AM!

Did you move between last year and now? The further north you go, the more difference there is in the length of time the sun is up between the seasons.

I always thought it was lighter longer in the summer with daylight savings time and vice versa in the winter. It was always a joy walking to the bus stop when it was not dark out after we turned the clocks.

It's funny you mention this. When I walked by my door around 5 in the morning today, I thought to myself, "it doesn't seem that dark out for 5 in the morning.". I also noticed yesterday that it took longer than usual for it to get dark out, but I'm just chalking this up to it being summer time.

That sounds like the other one! I don't want to be the creepy internet guy that asks the question thru a PM -- 'it' may think I'm an e-stalker and may try to set me up on 'How To Catch A Predator' or something, lol.

CuseGirl confuses me because she complains 'just like a dude' and I have never met a female that plays NCAA/Madden -- I've heard about those unicorns but I've never seen it myself (or at least the female being actually good at it).

I havent seen anything on him talking about Dinosaurs, giants, or anything like that. Lol

Most of the videos I've seen of him have to do with the Observation/Measurement/Superposition effect in quantum physics. He speaks a lot on consciousness and he had a video talking about 2012.

And thats exactly what Im saying man! It was pretty damn bright when I woke this morning at 5!
                      Thats crazy.

That could be it. I left Florida and am now in SoCal now. So maybe?

                        15% is great.

And, I hope so. I got 2K last year, for a shortened year and a hectic year end at the firm. I'm thinking (hoping) 4K at least. I only received a 2K raise too, which I attributed to the hectic year end. (lots of turnover -- drama filled and one of the partners passed away) The problem with the raise, is I didn't get to 'feel' it. My student loans kicked in at $250 a month, which took away the raise and then some.

Yeah. I moved out around the time I got my raise, so I haven't exactly been able to "have fun" with it. I want to start saving for a new car and move into a better (read: more private) place.

Magic, at first I thought you had lost your mind.

But now that I think of it, morning is a lot more bryte than I recall it being.

Case in point, for the past couple of years I could pretty much get by with speeding to work, due to the cover of darkness. I can't do that now b/c with the sun shining, it's easier to recognize vehicles for "the man".

Your move from Florida to SoCal doesn't make much of a difference. We are just entering the longest days (in terms of sunshine) of the year. After the Summer Soltice, which takes place in a little under 3 weeks, the days will start getting shorter again.

I'm union, so mine is based just on hours worked. After this week, I'll be about 47 hours away from a 32% raise!

I don't know what part of Florida you lived in before, but moving to California is probably good for an extra 15-30 minutes of daylight right now. Where I'm at, we're getting 15 hours of daylight right now.
