4 hours of my time and the show isn't the least bit appealing to me. How long should it take ?

Boardwalk Empire is a great show, Steve Buscemi is the man.

I've never watched Mad Men but when getting into a new series if it doesn't hook me in the first few episodes I move on. Too many other good shows out there.

      I agree.
Boardwalk Empire is one of my top shows and Buscemi was great in it.

I couldnt get into Mad Men or Breaking Bad. When I watch a new show, I try to watch it from the beginning. If I cant get hooked early, I move on.

I try to give new shows 5 episodes at least up to an entire season. I need to give them a chance to develop the characters and plot before moving on.

Yes, Season 1 was a little bit slow. I compare it The Sopranos where you have to pay attention and figure out which character is who and what they do, etc. then you kind of have to wait on something to happen, but when it does it's awesome. However, Season 2 is on a whole other level. It's just balls to the wall with a ton HOLY **** moments. Plus, I thinking that the acting on BWE is second to none. I really want to watch S2 again now.

Boardwalk Empire is the next show I have to catch up on before the 3rd season starts.

I've heard this "patience is a virtue" junk all my life. I'm happy to say I have no virtue, no scruples, and no desire to wait too long for anything. In my humble opinion instant gratification takes too long!

I don't have HBO, so I have to watch online either way.

How do you guys find time to game, watch these shows, be social, and work?

I get in a game of PS3 every few days and feel accomplished. I guess I fill those free time slots with listening to music. But that's an hour or two every other day.

I'm not a night crawler like so many of you, too. I'm in bed by 10 most nights, sometimes earlier.

The first season is character development. It really gets going at the end of season 1, then its just balls deep after that.

My top 3 right now are SoA, Breaking Bad and Mad Men. I haven't put in the time to watch the HBO shows, but I will get around to it eventually.

I have shows on my computer as I game, if I'm playing a sports game. Since The Show and Madden get a lot of playtime I can watch an episode or two a day.

I find the time by removing work and being social from the equation.

I don't get to watch much when the show airs.. I do it with marathons on lazy Sundays.

The only shows I make sure I'm home for is SoA and Archer

I paid $7 for two ball point pens and two highlighters. I'm going back to "barrowing" these things from others.
