So how long until the swelling in my thumb goes down? Got my thumb caught in a car door Friday night, thumbnail's all blue/black, and it's swelled up like a blowfish. I've been icing it on and off. Pain isn't really debilitating in my entire left arm anymore.

It looks like Tim Allen in the Santa Clause after he starts putting on the Santa weight uncontrollably.

I was like Vince Carter when it came to over-embellishing injuries/sickness just to stay home and not go to school.

My problem was that I would get sick often (allergies too) but was so miserable regardless of what I had, I just stayed home anyway.

My step mom never missed a day, either. She never had less than an A average in any class she was ever in.

I don't think I ever missed a day due to sickness in HS. I think I missed 4 days combined in 4 years there but they were all mainly due to trips if I remember correctly. Well, except one day when I pulled a muscle in my back sneezing and was in so much pain I couldn't get outside to the bus lol. I don't even remember the last time I missed a day due to sickness...maybe elementary school.

I missed a crap ton of school when I was a kid. But I haven't missed a day of work in almost ten years. 9 years 6 months to be exact. The last time I called in to work was the day my middle son was born. My youngest was a scheduled event .

Same, although, I really want to teach at the college level. I think I'm gonna minor in education just so I can be certified and teach at both levels.
