This reminds me of two stories from good ol' college -

My roommate and I senior year have a 'party' (more like, have all our friends and friends of friends over, not a big party) and everyone ends up leaving around 2 or so. Neither of us are tired so we order food and start watching Adam West's Batman. At around 3:30 someone starts knocking on our door. It was a weekend night and we were the first apartment right along the road in our complex, so we assume it's some dumb group of freshman thinking they were cool trying to get into an off-campus apartment. Or maybe they want to use the bathroom, who knows.

We open the door, ready to bitch some stupid ****ing kids out for being annoying this late...and we see one of our best friends, drunk off his ***, bloody scrapes all over his forearms, the knees on his pants are torn and bloody. He plows right in and stumbles all over the place knocking over the 'ruit table that we hadn't cleaned up yet and everything. Kid has no idea where he is or what's going on, but tells us he just walked over two miles trying to get back to his apartment (he lived probably another five minutes away) but couldn't make it. He has no idea where the blood came from or what happened.

We're nice guys, so we get him on the couch (it's a sectional) and actually wash his cuts and **** so he's not bleeding all over our ****. He passes out in probably forty seconds and starts snoring like a ****ing beached whale. We decide to **** with him - start yelling in his ear, throwing **** at him...nothing. We pull the part of the sectional he is sleeping on away from the rest of the couch and the kid rises up like a zombie. Yells at us, walks around and pushes the couch back together and then takes a running jump over the arm of the couch back onto it and, pretty much, was back blacked-out passed out on our couch before he landed.

Freshman year, my buddy and his roommate were passed out in their dorm at like 4am. One of them wakes up because someone in the room is snoring incredibly loud. He yells at his roommate, assuming it's him. His roommate wakes up and tells him to shut up....but the snoring continues. They both get out of bed and turn on the light - some random *** dude that neither of them had ever met was passed out on the futon in their room. They wake him up, ask him who the **** he is...he looks at them, doesn't say **** and stumbles out of the room. They have no idea how he got in or who he was.

God I miss ****ing UMass.

I got offered a new job today, from a past co worker and friend. We worked together for three years, back when I was in High School. We were both Managers at the Nation's highest sales volume Captain D's.

He just got his own store, working for a Loan Company. He said he wanted to offer me the position as his Assistant Mananger. He's a really nice guy and I know from my experience working with him that he'll do anything to make things easier on his co workers. He offered me more than I'm currently making with a set schedule that's easier than my current schedule. I would also be about 40 minutes closer to home.

I'm really considering it. With my current background with underwriting car loans and dealing with that stuff (I'm also legaly authorized to Notorize documents, by the State), I figure it won't be a lot different.

I'm really really considering it. This would be the shortest amount of time I've been at one job (8months). I hate leaving a job so soon, but It may be for the best.

Other than the culture at the car dealership, I'm not sure what else would keep you from taking more money and traveling less.

Pay more, shorter commute (therefore less $$$ on gas)... No brainer. You know the guy is solid too.
