Found out my cousin died last night. No clue what happened. Its a long story, but no one on my moms side has talked to my uncle and family in a couple years. He did something pretty unforgivable. I feel bad, but its weird. I'm not sure how bad to feel. Does this make any sense?

Yes. Almost sounds like karma coming back around. How old was he?

Glad you know what I mean. He was 25.

Don't get me wrong, I am sad he died. I always liked him. But he was into drugs, robbed his own grandparents (which are my grandparents too). I just feel confused.

Was it the Uncle or Cousin who did something unforgivable? I feel it's ok to be confused, but regardless just to me you never want to feel good about someone passing away when it's family unless it's really special circumstances.

Yeah, that is sad. I'm assuming you mean it was the uncle who did something pretty unforgivable? Of course I don't know any of the details, but they are still family.

Well it was the Uncle mainly, but it included my cousins as well. I don't really want to get into it because its kinda private and a long story.

I'll just say my uncle did something he shouldn't have and my cousins didn't do something they should have.

They hurt the family. Bad.

If you don't feel bad though, you don't feel bad. Can't help what you feel. I've had family members die and thought nothing of it, where I've had multiple kids I grew up with die at the age of 20-22 (I'm only 25 now) and I was crushed.

Your feelings are what they are, and you should never feel bad for how you feel.

I would have to think long and hard about forgiveness. I think I could forgive my cousins if they asked, but not sure about my uncle.

Everyone has those questions about death, in all honesty. It affects everyone differently. Obviously you weren't real close with them so there is no need to feel any more bad/sad than you do.

If it were someone truly close to you that you interacted with daily, I'm sure you'd be crushed. It's just the facts though.

I've had good buddies that I went through boot camp / training with die in the sandbox. I felt bad and sad... but we went our separate ways after being together for almost every day for 3 years. It's just one of those things. Can't beat yourself up over it, it's almost an offshoot of survivor's guilt.

I don't know what it will bring. Is it just a forever dreamless sleep? Or is there something more? Is there another dimension we don't know about? Are WE the other dimension that the other dimension doesn't know about? Is our brain still active in another state (like, your thoughts being made in a place other than your physical brain)?

Same here on the first part.
The only person close I have lost so far was my Grandpa. We knew it was coming (he had cancer and it spread everywhere) but it didn't make it any easier.

On the issue of death, without throwing in beliefs, I like to quote Gerry O'Driscoll. He was a janitor at Abbey Road Studios and was one of the voices on the Dark Side of the Moon album. This quote comes from the song, "The Great Gig in the Sky." It is one of my favorite quotes of all time.

And I am not frightened of dying. Any time will do, I don't mind. Why should I be frightened of dying? There's no reason for it – you've got to go sometime.

Somehow after passing out for 2 hours during which when I woke up freaking out thinking it was Sunday earlier, I managed to get my group project basically done.

Now for a 3-4 page single spaced paper on my trips to volunteering for the Boys and Girls club, I hate this class. So much stupid busy work that has not only nothing to do with teaching anything.
